Move from Alberta to Toronto

Here is some advice for everyone that is dealing with this company. I moved from Alberta to Ontario. I called to find out the cost of the weight they said it had not been done delivery was supposed to be 7 days showed up almost a month later on top of that the estimated weight went from 5000lbs to what they said was 6600lbs. I called them out on it and made them re weigh the load infront of me they were off by more then 1200lbs. That started the nightmare then they started to unpack my stuff if you want your stuff broken smashed or taken use this company. I completely advise who ever to never ever ever use this company or use at own risk.

UNORGANIZED!!!!!

Moving a move from Thunder Bay to Alberta. Pick was scheduled for Sept. 22 or 23rd and never showed up until the 25th. Was told my stuff would arrive at destination in 5-7 days. Here it is Oct. 13 and still nothing. Called them to see how much the total cost would be so I would have it ready for them when they arrive. Was told that they still do not have that amount from the drivers so I would have to call back on Monday. Which means if they do arrive I will have to wait till the accounting office is opened Monday to get my stuff, since THEY do not have a total amount to PAY THEM . I am SO FRUSTRATED at this point I COULD SCREAM! I have never seen a company so unorganized and so unprofessional in my
life!!!!!!!

The absolute worst.

I went to Ontario for my grandmother's funeral in June and we were cleaning up around the house so we could sell it. Lots of stuff we wanted to keep because memories and everything, but had no way to return it back to Alberta. So we called Landmark moving company.

First, they told us that we would get our stuff by July 12-15. Then said that they weren't leaving until July 20 (red flag #1). Then we called again asking when we would get our stuff and they said not until July 29. Waiting and waiting..."oh not until beginning of August". First thing that was right.

Received August 2. Unpacking all the boxes and everything seems fine-- all the tea cups from the war and from my great aunt in Germany, MOST of the expensive China...then we found a package behind a chair and kind of hidden (red flag #2). Okay..and unwrapping it from different packaging that we did NOT use, broken glass shelves and frames for the china cabinet. Picture frames broken. Bowls and plates broken. Mirror broken.

Why was it all broken? It said fragile and they should be a little more careful when moving packages. THEY WERE BASICALLY LETTING IT SLIDE DOWN THE STAIRS AND THE BOXES BOUNCING UP AND DOWN. LIKE BE MORE CONSIDERATE OF OTHER PEOPLES STUFF. None of this stuff is replaceable, except maybe the glass shelving and the mirror. But the plates and stuff? No. Will they even CARE when we call to complain? Doubt it very much.

Worst moving company ever. 10/10 would NEVER recommend.

WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!!!!
They did NOT show up on moving day. Highly stressful to say the very least.
They are extremely rude and arrogant.
Please stay away from them. They accept no responsibility for anything especially the owner and Jessica.

Damaged Move

My delivery arrived Jan 29th 2016. Everything was destroyed. I tried to work with them on the claim, it's now June 19th 2016 and I'm being given a run-around for the last 5 months. Zero dollars paid out after months of calls and emails (all documented). I would NEVER RECOMMEND OR USE THEM TO MOVE GARBAGE TO THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY.

Still waiting...

I'd never ever recommend this company to anyone. Our shipment was picked up from Winnipeg, MB on April 24, 2016. They said they'd deliver to Montreal, QC in 10 days. I called on May 4th. Said the window is not 10 days but 10-20 days. I called on May 13th. Said they'd deliver on 18th. Nothing came. I called on May 23rd. Said the delivery will be during the week of May 23-27. Today is May 30th and we, including a toddler, are still waiting..

Moving from B.C. to Saskatoon

By far the worst moving company we dealt with in our entire life. They were over a month late with our furniture and doubled the quoted price while they had our stuff. Once they get your money they hold your stuff hostage. The staff is very unprofessional and RUDE!!! Would not recommend this moving company to my worst enemy. This company overall is very sketchy. I was waiting for my furniture for two and half months and my kids had no beds. Very hard to wake them up for school. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and do not hire these guys. It's worth the extra money to hire good people.

Mis-committments all the way

The worst moving company ever, the never meet their commitments and have no means to meet customer requirements. They ship your stuff based on their truck availability and not per your requirements which is ridiculous. At two occasions I was told that I'll get my stuff on a particular date but my shippment was never released and it was only me who followed up to confirm as they didn't even have a courtesy to call me and give a status update. Now m home with a school going kid with no bed and kitchen stuff for more than 20 daysdue to their inefficiencies. I will never recommend it to anyone... Worst managed company.

To: WORST EXPERIENCE - HIGHLY DISGUSTING ATTITUDE OF BROCK...

Booked 2 weeks in advance for April 2, 2016. Brock gave me invoice number and debited $100 as advance from my credit card. Waited on day of moving, Brock said booking is from 11am to 1 pm. Nobody called or turned up until 6 pm. Nobody responded to our repeated calls. It was a highly stressful situation for us . We had to call and use other transporters the last minute. After 2 days of settling down when I call Brock on April 6,2016 and explained our inconvenience, he refused to listen and insisted that we had cancelled which is totally false. he says its okay!!! and that they will try to return the advance in a couple of days!! He hung up on me.
I would never ever suggest this company to any one. DONT EVER USE THESE MOVERS!!! They are highly unprofessional and rude. When I asked for the Manager, Brock claims he is the Manager.

Worst service ever

I received a quote for moving our household from Upper Tantallon, NS to Nepean, ON, February 18th for $1040: $0.50/lb x 2000 lbs.

The actual charge ended up being 1730 + HST = 1954, which means the initial quote was deceptively too low. They refused to unload the truck unless you sign off on the higher price, which means they hold you hostage. Complaining to your credit card company of the inflated price then is useless because of your signature.

Their price match policy is deceptive because they're matching the price per kg, and then lowball their kg estimate of the move to underquote the competition.

Then, in early February, I called to confirm the day and time of pick up, and the estimated day of delivery; I was told Feb 17 I would receive a call confirming time of pick up on the 18th, and that delivery would be 2-4 days (21-22 Feb).

BUT: We did not receive the day before call, and I had to call first thing on the 18th to get the pick up time. I was told 4-6pm. This was our planned departure day and we could not wait ourselves, but left my mother in charge of the pick up.

The pick up actually happened around lunch time. The crew dismantled the bunk beds to load on the truck. After they left, while she was cleaning up, my mother discovered a few screws and brackets from the beds that they had left behind and has subsequently mailed that to us at our own cost.

When we next called for an update on delivery time, we were told Feb 28th - a full week later than our original quote. We husband called repeatedly to confirm this date, and always got Feb 28, with assurance that the day before we would be called to confirm a time.

BUT: We never got that call. So, we called the morning of the 28th but only got through to answering machines. Sunday the 29th we finally got a text saying delivery would be that evening. It was about 7:30 - 8 pm when the truck finally came.

The delivery felt rather rushed. Blankets and runners were put down, but our carpets were still soiled as the movers did not restrict themselves to the runners, nor did they put the runners all the way to the bedrooms. They also broke a picture during the move. They also pulled a strip off our hardwood floor step, but replaced it on the spot.

In addition, a whiteboard was damaged before entering the house: a few deep dents and the frame has been pulled off at one corner.

And, a table leg was ripped off the table, but we repaired it with a few screws.

The bunk bed mattresses are missing and the screws and brackets to put it back together. The onsite movers told us that there were in one of our boxes. We were not told which box. We have now opened all the boxes we received and have not found the screws and brackets. Upon closer inspection of the inventory list, we discovered that a RubberMate, and at least one other carton is missing also. We are not sure of this carton’s number because the stickers were off these boxes by the time we inspected them, but I can only account for 19 of the 20 cartons listed on the inventory.

The actual cost of the the move was $1954.90. Almost double the quote of $1040. This is actually higher than all other quotes we received, even one that sent a person to walk through and visually estimate the cost.

The bunk beds and mattresses were only a few months old (purchased in September), and are necessary for our children to sleep on. Currently, they are sleeping on the floor. Two whole bunk bed mattresses were lost. We recovered some screwed mailed to us by my mother, but other screws and brackets are missing.

Attempting to complain to Landmark was a nightmare. Promises to return calls and process applications were not met. Their resolution for these complaints is to:
1. Refuse to apologize
2. Offer only $200 for the damaged and missing parts, which doesn't even cover a bunk bed mattress, let alone the bunk bed that cannot be re-assembled without the missing parts. They restrict their legal liability to 60 cents / pound, which doesn't come close to replacement cost of the things we lost.

They could not have done a worse job, either before, during, or after the move, nor treated us with less contempt. Do not use this mover.
