Piss-poor roofing job

Please beware of hiring Jim Brow to do your roof. We was a nightmare to deal with.
He started stripping off the flat portion of our roof before a massive rainstorm, leaving it exposed with only a tarp to protect it. It still leaked.
He told us it would take 3-5 days to finish the job. After 18 days, he gave up and walked away. He never finished the job.
Somehow, Jim - a roofer with decades of experience - never thought to check the grading on the flat roof portion. So after he put the new roof on, there was significant pooling where it had settled. When we told him, he told us it wasn't his fault, the roof was the problem. (Honestly, I'm not making this up.)
When we asked him to fix the problem, he tried patching the deepest pocket, which only moved the pooling to another spot on the roof. He refused to regrade it properly. He yelled at me on the phone, hung up on me twice, and told me he was done, despite leaving us with a roof that doesn't drain properly and water damage inside. And all this after we bought his crew lunch twice, plus gave them all LCBO gift certificates, in the hopes that if we treated them well, they would do a good job.
Instead, his 10-year labour warranty didn't last a week. We now have to hire another roofer to fix his shoddy work. We had held back a not-insignificant amount of money until the job was finished, but he must have overcharged us enough that he could still afford to walk away. We don't normally leave reviews, but wanted to spare anyone else the stress and cost of a similar situation. You could be left with a giant headache and no recourse.

Approximate cost of services:
$11,500.00
