Fence

We contacted B&G fence a few months ago to give us a quote on a fence for our backyard. The salesman we worked with (who may also be the owner) was named Harry and showed up one hour late with no reasoning or apology. With that aside, we liked the product he offered as other people in our neighborhood had used the company and decided to give them a chance. We were told that we had to put down a deposit of half of our total services. Because they are a smaller, "mom & pop shop," and because of their good reviews on Angie's List, we chose to go with them and paid our deposit via credit card. We spoke to Harry around Thursday, June 5 and they said they had an opening for Tuesday, June 10 to begin the installation of our fence. He said he would follow up with us on Monday, June 9. As Monday morning passed, both myself and my boyfriend left him voicemails asking if they were still planning on coming out on Tuesday. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that they would show up the following morning in which I took off work for. On Tuesday we received a few rain drops, but did not hear from them to confirm that they were or were not coming out for the installation. They were contacted, again, by both myself and my boyfriend throughout the day. On Wednesday, June 11, we took off the morning from work as the weather was perfect and once again contacted B&G to see if they were coming out for installation. I then tried using a different number and sure enough, Harry picked up. I asked him if he was coming out today and why he hadn't responded to my previous phone calls. He said he had trouble with his car, phone, and everything else he could think of, but said he would call as soon as he could to re-arrange a time with us. We did not hear from him the rest of the day, despite repeated attempts to reach him. Since then, we have never heard from him again. We have tried calling both their main line and Harry's cell phone, along with leaving voice mails. In the mean time, our credit card was charged around $1500 from his company. This afternoon on June 18 I was accidentally contacted by Harry. When I picked up he said, "Is this Kim? Im on my way over, Kim." I responded with, "No, this is Passion Moore and you were supposed to install a fence at my house over one week ago." He responded with "Uhhh" and then hung up. I have never been so disappointed, shocked and taken advantage of by anyone in my entire life. We have since filed a fraudulent claim with our credit card company, but to not even receive a call, email or anything from this company is so unprofessional, rude and unacceptable. I cannot imagine a company staying in business with these practices.
