Short & Simple: Had some Parging that wasn't very old, but had started to crack and fall apart from eavestrough's consistently leaking from opposite side. Called them up, Chris came and saw the problem, kindly sent someone to prepare it for the coming winter to revisit in the spring. Just yesterday, they showed up with two very awesome fellas named Marvin & Shawn and basically redid the entire side of the house within a day! We also had a closing on the property too, which came up sooner than expected, and yet, they found a solution for timing, and nailed it.

A retaining wall collapsed at the base of our property. We had shopped around for quotes to repair it, some coming in at $25K. We were quite discouraged. Then we got a hold of Chris. His estimate was a quarter of the cost. The excellent reviews that his company had received combined with the price, made us willing to give him a call. On first meeting, he was honest and self-deprecating (qualities he would retain through the project we asked him to take on). He explained why his quote was so much less. He also explained the complications that would come with a simple repair of the retaining wall. We discussed an expansion of the job, to which after some discussion , we agreed. And are we glad we did. Chris, Dave and the crew spent the next few months, frustratingly for them I am sure, digging up our front and side yards, and rebuilding quite literally from the ground up. The results were better than we could imagine. From a broken, dangerous yard, the guys built us a new, quite lovely yard. Throughout the whole project, all of the people that worked on our yard, were professional, friendly, and accommodating. More importantly, they displayed an exceptional level of skill. We couldn't be happier with the work and the relationship we developed with the company and its employees. We would highly recommend them to anyone interested and will hire them again in the future without question.

My wife and I noticed some spots on on our ceiling that continued to get larger around the Chimney area. Had a roofer come out and he said it was not a roofing issue but Chimney was old, cracked and leaking. Called 7 or 8 masons and they all said either 8k - 10K to replace / rebuild the chimney or they wouldnt even bother coming out until spring (and wished me good luck with the leak). Called Chris, immediate difference in professionalsim. Determined that he could rebuild the chimney for less than 1/2 price of the other quotes (and he actually guessed the names of those pirates) or he could just take it right off for even cheaper! Weather was bad, he offered to come and tarp the chimney for as long as the job would be his in better weather. I agreed, its been 1 month of rain and wet - no more spots on tne roof. This guy is top notch, trustworthy and 100% worth your business. Watch out for the bad apples in this industry!!! Chris and his team will come out and take down our chimey and I will again review with what I bet will be 10/10.

Incredible workmanship and outstanding professionals. We needed to replace our existing limestone window sill, so we reached out to a few companies for quotes. Avenue Road Masonry immediately provided a detailed cost breakdown and responded to all my follow up questions. This level of professionalism immediately won me over. Their price was also the best out of the four companies I contacted. I communicated with the supervisor before the job started to confirm some details and they came a couple of days later, as promised (we were doing a larger reno on the house and having people come when they say they will come was so great, and definitely not the norm). I got a call at work that the job was complete and was told that they went above and beyond to fix a crack on another window sill even though they weren’t hired to do that. The site was clean and the window sill installation looks spectacular. We couldn’t be more impressed. Highly recommended!

One of our front stairs was loose and I was worried someone would fall.
Chris came to fix it temporarily until the spring thaw, at which time we would replace the entire front steps.
We have older seniors (80+) using the steps to deliver meals on wheels for my 93 year old Dad.
Chris had reinforced every single stair as he was worried about the volunteers slipping off our old steps.
Chris is a very kind, caring and professional man and he did a wonderful job. Our steps are sturdy and never looked better.

Had water leaking into my family room due to side chimney having cracked joints and requiring new flashing. Also required repair of my front porch flag stones and replacement of limestone coping that cracked. Had three estimates and Avenue Rd quote was not cheapest,nor most expensive, however decided on them based on their extensive experience, prior excellent reviews, and expertise that Chris had provided in getting the job completed properly and timely. No disappointment, as Robert coordinated the work and sent two of their top masons that worked the entire day to complete the job. The front chimney, though not leaking, was also repaired with cement, pointing, and caulked. Front flag stone work and looks like new again. Would highly recommend this company for any masonry and roof work.

After the June wind storm in Toronto, a very old tree dropped many large limbs onto my house. This toppled the chimney leaving it in shambles. I had heard of Avenue Road Masonry was the go-to company for any masonry issues. The salesman Rob, accommodated my schedule and arrived on-site for the initial assessment. He went over the repair options and answered all questions and concerns. Then within a few days the crew ( Ron, Rainford and Marvin) arrived on site to do the fix. They were in and out with the chimney tear-down and rebuild job completed all within one day. Very competent, courteous, friendly, and with no mess left for me to clean up.
Directly on job completion I was called by Rob to ensure I was pleased with all aspects of the work.
I discovered that their company does any brick details needed on the home, also parging, tuckpointing, block and stone work, concrete work , patio flagstones, fireplaces, foundation waterproofing etc.
This left me planning and lining up my next project to bring back the Avenue Road Masonry team.
I would not hesitate to recommend their services.

Chris was very helpful and informative before, during and after the chimney project was done.

He was always available to answer my questions and took several opportunities out of his busy schedule to come to me and clarify things.

My most memorable aspect my dealings with Avenue Road Masonary was that they know the limitations of their expertise. Unlike most people that claim to know everything, Chris was very clear that in order for the job to be done well he needed to call apon another division of his company that specializes in chimney flashing. Almost all the masons that I called for during the quote process told me that they will do everything themselves and that they understand the technicality of roofing. A claim that I know by past experiences with contractor is largely overstated.

Bottom line Avenue Road Massonry gave me the best quote out there given their high level of expertise and experience. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that wants to get the best possible job done at a reasonable price.

After getting multiple quotes for my project I felt that most of the other quotes where extremely extremely high.

In a world that paying more is no longer an indication of good quality, Avenue Road Massonry are worth every penny.

I have a two story townhouse where the mortar between the bricks near the roof had started to crumble and the face of a few bricks had fallen off so I called Avenue Road Masonry to take a look and provide me with an estimate to do the necessary repairs.
I found the amount they quoted to be competitive with others that I had received and they were licensed and insured and their people were bonded. I was not comfortable using someone without insurance because the people would be working at a fair height.
Found them to be very professional from start to finish. Quality of work looks good, they did what they were supposed to do fast and effecient, including thoroughly cleaning up the place after they finished.
I would not hesitate to use them again.

Our home is about 34 years old and it was suggested that we have someone come and look at the tuckpointing on the window ledges. When Chris came he got out his ladder and checked all the outside window ledges to see their condition. They all needed tuckpointing. He also noticed that one ledge in the back was sagging on one side and suggested a complete replacement. He also pointed out that when this home was built, solid one piece ledges should have been used on most of the windows rather than piecing them together with tuckpointing - a cheaper way to go for the builder. A detailed quote was provided and the two gentlemen doing the job were here five days later and completed the job. They were respectful and did an excellent job. We are very pleased with the professional services of Avenue Road Masonry and could not have asked for nicer people to help us get this job done. When we were looking at their website we thought that maybe our job was not big enough for them, not so. We are glad we made the call and would highly recommend them.
