Very satisfied with the work from Avenue Road Masonry. Chris was excellent the whole way through the project. He was very helpful answering questions and was very passionate about masonry. Every promise made was delivered. Avenue Road Masonry tore down an old and improperly decomissioned pot-belly stove chimney shared between us and our shared-wall neighbour in preparation for a roofing project with Avenue Road Roofing. Avenue Road Masonry prioritized the project to get in ahead of the roofers. At the same time, we also elected to re-build our 1923 chimney that is still in used for wood-burning fires. Altin and crew came out and spent about 1.5 days on the project, tearing down on the first half-day and leaving the property water-tight. The work was well-planned and the crew left the property cleaner than when they arrived. The following day, the chimney was re-built using brick I had selected. Chris was excited about the material and the final product looked incredible. I am sometimes too handy for my own good, and could not find a single issue with the work - the rebuild is even more plumb than the supporting brick below and the chimney now looks better than the rest of the house! I regret not having contracted Avenue Road Masonry to complete more work at the property and will certainly contract them again in the future for pre-cast window sills, repointing, and other masonry repairs that come up in the near future. An excellent experience, from beginning to end. I needed to rebuild an existing retaining wall, and I wanted it to continue to match other walls near my patio. When I was obtaining quotes, Chris (the owner) patiently answered my many questions. His answers made sense (unlike some of his competitors), and he was honest about what we might face once we took down my existing retaining wall to rebuild it. A very refreshing approach.

James and his team were fantastic. They meticulously dismantled my wall, so they could reconstruct it to match the other walls near the patio. They took the mortar off, and cleaned, each stone. When we did uncover the base, Robert (the Production/Service Manager) came to the site and James and Robert patiently explained my choices and the pros/cons of each choice.

Speaking of Robert, he checked in every day. Usually, he visited the job site, and he also checked in via phone. The crew would take pictures at each step of the process, so he always knew what was happening. I was able to be at home part of each day, but if the client can't be, this is a huge advantage. You can clearly see what has happened on your job at each step.

Chris also visited the site, which was much appreciated.

James is a true craftsman and artist. His design for the new wall was much better than the original, and it flows better with the other walls. He does beautiful work.

Meanwhile, Altin did a fantastic job rebuilding my chimney and ensuring it is now structurally sound. Plus, he did a great job parging some crumbling bricks on my front porch.

At the end, James and his team meticulously cleaned up. I have complete confidence the jobs were done correctly and I am so happy I chose Avenue Road Masonry!

i called Avenue Road Masonry to get the 3 rd of 3 quotes to secure work on replacing and repairing my chimney and back brick wall. Chris ( one of the owners) showed up personally to assess the job within 2 days of the initial call. He was thorough, thoughtful , and made several good, and cost saving recommendations. Within a week i received a call from the production manager securing a convenient time and to explain the scope and length of the job. 2 days. The mason techs, Kolton and Eric arrived promptly on the agreed upon day and time and set right to work. They came prepared with all tools and worked tirelessly and without complaint , given a somewhat challenging access field of our property. Both young men were extremely personable, professional, and hard working. On the 2nd day of the job, Robert, the supervisor/ production manager came to inspect the progress and make a few more suggestions as to where more sealing could be done. The job , clean up and communication could not have been more efficient and worry free. I would highly recommend this company. They are family run, professional, personal and it is obvious to me that they provide their workers with a safe work environment and treat their employees well. I will admit the job cost a bit more than the 2 other quotes received, but given the peace of mind and the quality of the work it was definitely value added. Thank you again
