I am very happy we picked this company to complete our basement renovation. From our first meeting until the last day on the job, Victor and his team made sure we were heard in every aspect of the process. Like any major renovation, unforseen circumstances bring on challenges which Victor addressed with
promptness and courtesy.

This was a big basement renovation that required continuous management of the trades for a timely delivery of each step in the renovation process. This was effectively achieved through the due diligence of the Project Manager Victor.
As with any major renovation undertaking, there were obstacles encountered and with collaboration of ideas between homeowner, Project Manager Victor and the trade's subject matter experts, these obstacles became opportunities for innovative solutions. Overall, the workmanship was of great quality and we were very pleased with the end result.

If I can give a rating of more than 10 stars for Continental Brothers Construction Inc., I definitely would! I found this construction company through browsing online and through this website. My husband and I got a quote from four basement renovation contractors and of the four, it was Victor Machado (part-owner and manager of Continental Bros) that we find most comfortable and easiest to deal with during our first meeting. His quote was comparable with the two others, (the fourth one being just over the top), but we chose him because there was just this positive vibe in him that tells me that this guy is not ripping us off. Fortunately, our positive first impression of Victor lasted till the end! I have not met a contractor like Victor who is so passionate about ensuring that his clients get fully satisfied. His payment terms is fair and acceptable. He is owner/manager but he is as hard working as his team. He also showed us another basement that they were renovating which was 5 minutes away so I was convinced that what I see in the pictures online is as good as the actual. Since this basement renovation of ours is our biggest investment yet, I find it extremely important to work with someone that we can trust and communicate with, someone who has built his good reputation, hence reading reviews from websites like Homestars is a must to me.
Victor, Hung (his business partner) and Tony come to the house on time, Monday to Friday, work straight and clean up their mess before they go home. Hung is the man with the “Midas touch” – he is gifted with the golden touch because he executes the team’s ideas and those of ours perfectly. Tony is the ever quiet, smiling guy who just works as hard as the other members of the team. Victor’s paint team led by a very nice guy Nilcelio also did an excellent job at painting the basement walls.
Whenever we are home, Victor makes it a point to show us what they have accomplished at the end of the day. I have the tendency to be very particular so I appreciate it that Victor is open to ideas , suggestions and minimal changes along the way for as long as these are reasonable. There were also ideas that were quite unrealistic that I came up with while the renovation was progressing but good thing I listened to Victor because I would have spent more money on things that were not really warranted at all (e.g. I want ALL basement doors to be custom made and identical to the French double door and this would have been very costly and unnecessary ). Victor sticks with the budget with no surprises along the way except if there was an upgrade that I want and it was not part of what was originally agreed.
Now that our basement is done, my husband and I are just so amazed with its beautiful transformation. After a long day from work, I go down to the basement , sit and have some drinks in our mini bar with multi color led lights on, watch the kids as they enjoy their play area, get fascinated with the stone wall where our tv is installed, take a peek at the new three piece bathroom that was just exquisitely done and just feel sooo proud that this big project of ours turned out to be everything that we want it to be … and even more! Kudos to Victor, Hung and the team! Truly another masterpiece of yours! Thank you for a job well done!

Victor and his crew did an excellent job with our basement. He was very good in designing that most of the time we go with his suggestions and we were very pleased with the outcome. He tried to work with our budget without compromising the beauty of the project being done. He tried to do the on the spot things that we wanted to be done. We are very happy with the end result of our basement and we highly recommend him.

Right about now you've either been through a dozen reviews or are about to go through them, because you need something done and need help deciding ... Read on ..
I'm generally a very picky guy , and hard to deal with - not to mention I change my mind more often than .... my socks - it took me a year to decide that I wanted to finish my basement and started looking for a company to work with , I met Victor in December ( found his company on this site ) and discussed what I wanted to get done , we chatted , discussed ideas , pricing and I told him I'd get back to him as I needed to meet some other companies as well a couple months later I decided to go ahead with Continental brothers as their quote was close to what the job should have costed and of course their reviews helped too ( no they're not cheap, I just happen to know how much it should have costed based on what I wanted done etc , please research your project )
They started work on feb 29th and we're done by March 24th - right on time as agreed upon
Their workman ship is amazing , small details they capture that you wouldn't consider if this is your first Reno
His crew , Hung & Tony who work on framing , walks , electrical etc Are a great team and get things done really fast - the taping and mudding crew I think is one of the best ( compared to the work I've seen in other basements ) my floors came out just perfect - I'd sleep on them if I wasn't used to my bed
I also decided to add a shower and a wet bar last minute - and guess what , those additions came out just perfect and at a very reasonable amount - for all you Reno first timers , make sure who ever you go with doesn't rip you off when you change the layout or make additions - BECAUSE YOU WILL , as you see your project take life you will want to make it look better , and that's where Victor n his crew were very honest with pricing and flexible in design changes ( very very important )
In short , I trust these guys - and nothing says it better than that - they don't skim on the job because they love what they do , it's not just about the $$$ - it's l'passion !

We are very pleased with Victor’s work. Our project was a powder room renovation and we were pretty clueless about how to go about it. Victor appeared very knowledgeable and listened to what my ideas were and offered plenty of helpful suggestions on what to purchase and from where; he even took photos of fixtures/tiles he thought I might like.

After the work started, he was in constant touch with us throughout the process, providing regular updates on the status of the job and letting us know if he encountered any hiccups along the way. He also made sure he left the house clean each day. Most importantly, kept well within the agreed upon rate (which was very reasonable).
