Our upstairs toilet wasn’t flushing consistently (50%). After calling a number of places that were either too expensive ($205/hr!!!) or unavailable at times that worked, Jeff arrived promptly at 3 on a Friday. At first I was unsure of the $60 fee for the visit alone (waived if choosing them to do the job). Jeff found it odd that a toilet under 5 years old would have this issue. He said most plumbers would just come and snake it, charge me and it wouldn’t do the trick. Or tell me I need a new toilet (which another plumber told me over the phone. However, Jeff thought it may be a calcium buildup & suggested I remove the water out of the bowl (cup & sponge) and dump half a large jug of CLR in the bowl, wait 20 mins and poke around in the holes in the bottom of the bowl and top of the rim where the small holes are. Also used a sturdy toilet brush and went at it. I could see bits of the hard calcium become loose and floating around then gave it a flush and repeated the treatment. It has been a week and the toilet hasn’t missed 1 flush yet. Thank you Jeff for your honesty and looking at all of the options and suggesting this cost-effective method. Wasn’t how I planned my Friday night but was pleased with the results. Will definitely call The Great Plumbing Co for any future jobs/issues. Thanks again Jeff! A+
