We recently moved into a 19-year-old home and discovered that all outlets (around 50) had "stab wiring," a potential electrical hazard (as shown by one burned/melted outlet that we found). We also needed the original five smoke detectors replaced, more smoke detectors added and a fan installed in our ensuite. We checked reviews on HomeStars and got quotes, deciding to hire The Honest Electrician. It was a great choice. Kyle and Darcie are knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They run the business with integrity. They were prompt with the appointments. The quote we received was fair and they did the job that was promised, fixing some switches and other small "add-ons" that they found along the way to make sure that our house was safe and functioning well from an electrical standpoint. They also disconnected a light that we no longer needed, as well as an outlet that we wanted to cover. They patiently explained things that they were doing and discussed possible future needs at our request. They are both genuinely friendly and conscientious in their work and they provided great service, staying late to make sure all was done as promised, which it was. Replaced existing kitchen aluminum wiring and added several new outlets. Added pot lights and under cabinet lighting. New dedicated circuits for garburator, microwave and dishwasher.

Supply and replace the original bathroom fan in my rental Condo unit. Wasn't the easiest fit but Kyle got it done. Great service and very professional. Highly recommend!

I reached out to a few electricians in my area regarding a doorbell upgrade job; the existing transformer was now powerful enough for the new video doorbell so an AC transformer was needed. Due to the old doorbell was part of an old intercom and I got some 'wild' quotes and/or hidden 'call-out' fees (after researching online) just to show up and estimate the job. Based on the stellar reviews of The Honest Electrician on HS and the reasonable quote from its owner Kyle, I decided to go with THE. While there was some complication to get the new doorbell up and running, I wasn't disappointed. Most importantly, I was invoiced within the range of the original quote. This company definitely lives up to its name and I have no reservation in recommending it to others or use it again myself in the future.

We needed fast service to install toilets and set up new fridge plumbing. Markus was very responsive and friendly.

Kyle showed up early and honoured his quote even though one of the jobs turned out to take more time than anticipated. He totally cleaned up afterwards and we are very happy with the work he did. I will definately call him again for any more work.

Bring out six sunken electrical boxes in garage gyprock and add cover plates to all.

I have very pleased and impressed. My light installation was very tricky and the electrician was patient and professional in ensuring that is was set up properly. They suggested dimmers and had some on hand, which makes a huge difference. I’m very pleased with their work!
