Unfortunately I also missed seeing these reviews until it was too late. Helen came to our house, fabric book in hand, to measure our cushions in order to create cushion covers. She went through the whole process- measured the cushions, explained the pros and cons of various fabric options, and wrote up an estimate for labour and material costs. I also paid roughly 50% up front; fortunately this was only $70. She stayed quite awhile, and was pleasant to chat with. She even told me how pleased another client was with her work, and how her cat was unable to rip the fabric with its nails (see below for the comment from the woman with a cat)!
When Helen was slow in getting back to us, I emailed and texted. I heard from her after several days, explaining she'd been caring for an ailing friend and would have the covers completed soon. That was the last I've heard from her. I've sent multiple emails, texts and left phone messages. It has been over two months.
I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I hope this message reaches others before they make the mistake of paying for her services.
