Moving a one bedroom apartment

WAAAAAYYY to expensive, more then they said. They damaged EVERY piece of furniture I own. The WORST moving company. AND on top of everything, they sent me personal information of other clients by accident. As well, I am miss some of my belongings and "insurance" has taken 3 months with NO word. I also have someone else belongings, and absolute does not care at all!!!!!!!!! Would you really want someone as slimy as them to trust with your belongings.

moving service

I strongly advise to not use the services of Absolute Van Lines. Move dates changed for over a period of a month which resulted in having to live in a hotel in my new location at a significant cost (not reimbursed by Absolute); during this period no clarification on move dates (with repetitive phone calls and the "manager" never seeming to be in the office); lost/broken furniture; off-loading of items that were not mine etc.etc. License for operation should be revoked immediately.

$1,500.00

Move

I had a very small move only consisted of a few boxes, the representative at Absolute Van Lines was able to accommodate my needs. After much deliberation with my husband while trying to narrow it down to one company, we committed to Absolute Van Lines. They worked out a flat rate of $1,000.00 for moving our basic necessities from Edmonton to Mississauga, ON. Over all the move ran smooth I am very happy with the service.

Moving

I was moving from Fort McMurray, Alberta to Ontario. They had a low bid of 2500 as a quote. This company took my items, kept them for 4 months, and repeatedly deceived me to my face about delivery times. I called them every day for two months and they would say "oh, it's on the way. oh the truck broke down. oh we can't get a hold of the delivery driver." Turns out their driver took them to Vacouver and would not release them until I paid the driver 2700$. Got the police involved and finally got my stuff, or about 80% of it. Other 20 % arrived damaged and many pieces were lost. When it arrived 4 months later they charged be 5000 and only offered to take off 400$ for the inconvenience. I have emails to prove all of this and our correspondences. email germain [dot]dustin@gmail.com. and i'll send it to you. These guys are crooks and deceivers and everyone is dishonest.

Moving Company

I have not had a good experience with Absolute Van Lines. The move of personal goods was from Windsor, Ontario to Vancouver, B.C. They told me my shipment was 1820lbs. After the delivery men loaded my goods into our truck and camper on the delivery date (sept 27) I took the truck to the Municiple Transfer Station in North Vancouver to be weighed. I weighed the truck before the goods were loaded and after. The weight of my shipment was 853 lbs. Absolute Van Lines charged me for an extra 967 lbs. I reweighed each item on a household scale as well when I got home and it came to 864lbs.
Since the delivery on Sept 27th, 2014 I have been trying to reach Millicent or Nicole to discuss the dispute without sucess. I keep getting put off.
I was not given an itemized inventory list by the driver in Windsor. The delivery man in Vancouver did not have an inventory list to give me. I had to go by a list my brother made for me in Windsor.
The quote stated that I could pay by Visa but when it came time to deliver my goods I was told I could not pay by visa because their machine was down. I was told I had to pay by bank draft or money order or else I would not get my shipment. When I told them Visa informed me that I could pay thru their Merchant Services Company, Absolute Van Lines told me their bank would not allow this.
I have requested a refund for the 967lb over charge on weight (a $588.90 difference). I hope that they will settle this dispute in a professional and timely manner and refund my money before I take further action.
My advise to everyone is to have their goods weighed before Absolute Van Lines picks up your goods. Or arrange to go to the weigh station with them. Smaller items were put in a large cardboard box provided by Absolute Van Lines. These items were not individually wrapped and damage was done to my 2 anitque lamp tables.

move

Holly where do I start, well after the boss aka my wife spoke to all the moving companies (I feel bad for the representatives) she decided on the company with the representative who knew their stuff and as she would say "stand her ground". Bless Korisas heart for putting up with us, we know it wasn't easy. We probably asked over a million questions by the end of it. We moved a lot of valuable china dish sets that have been in the family for ages, some even older than me and I am 68 and counting. I am very grateful for all the hard work everyone at that company did for my wife and I not one piece of our valuable china was broken. My wife and I are both retired so thank goodness Absolute Van Lines took that into consideration upon booking, they really cared about us and our belongings and even have us a discount for being old. I have already recommended this company to everyone I know, that's 68 years of friends so I hope I can get them some business so everyone can experience a splendid move like my wife and I.
