We hired Chris Templeton from Templeton Construction and Renovation to do a renovation of our bathroom. He first showed up one evening at our home with a contract for us to sign. We had not seen the contract before (he did not send it to us by email to review). We signed it without reading it, which was our mistake, but we felt pressured to do so.
The morning of the day the job is scheduled to start, I get an email that our bathroom cabinet is not done. Some excuse about the carpenter. Fine. He said he is going to look for a better one for us. Even though he boasted to us that we would have an "hand made" cabinet. He goes to some stores and take some pictures of the cabinets. This is after days and days of trying to get him to start the job.
We finally just pick a cabinet from Home Depot. Well, he failed to mention to us that it would not fit our bathroom. He later blamed us that "we chose the cabinet". Now we have a cabinet in our bathroom where we cannot even open two drawers.
In the end the work was sub-par at best. He said he gave us a "discount" on the price, but for the quality of work, we were the ones who got ripped off.
It also took several weeks of emails and phone calls to get us to come back to the house to find some caulking that he failed to do properly the first time.
Terrible experience. Warning - he does handyman work as well. He boasts that his senior clients love him.
