AGM Renovations

AGM completed our bathroom renovations recently and we thought the contractors were detailed, communicative and successfully transformed our outdated bathroom into a modern, spa-like oasis. We love our steam shower, deep soaker tub and LED mirror lights especially. We look forward to enjoying our bathroom for years to come.

The workers where very friendly and professional. Vic really helped this project to succeed and made the 3 bathrooms look like an oasis. I am pleased with the final products and the way everything came out. I am happy that there is 5 years warranty on the work.
I recommend AGM and Vic to others if you want great work done.

I had my first big renovation ever and I started with the Basement. I went with AGM because of the reputation.
The best parts with working with them was that they are a one stop shop. I could order everything from them and didn’t need to go anywhere else. Also, the price was pretty good. I know I was paying a bit of a premium however, that piece of mind of knowing that everything in warranted made it worth it.
I did have some issues. I had a change to the plans and because of that change, they could no longer guarantee the completion end date. The change was only a 2 day delay however, it delayed the project by 2 months, (not entirely their fault, some of it was delays due to COVID).
Overall, it was a good experience.
If you do use them, make sure you do your homework, know what you want and iron everything out before signing so to prevent delays.

AGM did our basement renovation and did a great job. There were some hiccups during the project, Adam the Project Manager resolved the issues quickly and insured that our vision would be executed and insured that we were on track. Adam went above and beyond my expectations. Going to miss our weekly meetings. All the trades’ people were very respectful and professional. I would like to thank Lyndsie who explained and walked us through the process and helped us with the initial stage of our basement renovations. Annalee (designer) help us to pick and made our vision come to life. I would highly recommend AGM to anyone looking to renovate their basement.

Mike was responsive to all of our concerns along the way and was quick to address them. He was very efficient scheduling the various trades throughout the project. We'll done!

From our experience, AGM outsources the actual work, so we are paying a premium for them to handle issues. But based on our experiences we didn't get any extra benefit. So you are better off vetting and hiring your own contractors who will be responsive and do the work they were paid to do.

Updated review #2:
It is now March 4, and we still have open defects for our kitchen renovation. The contract says you must pay 100% after 75% work completion, so I was forced to finish full payment before work was completed. After the payment, they did not come back to finish the final work. Now AGM wants us to follow the warranty process. But based on the issues below work isn't finished and we cannot install a hood range.

Remaining items are still:
1) The bottom of the shelf to the countertop is 17” instead of the standard 18”. Moe said he was going to talk to Gloria about this since it was in the design 18", but 17” means that standard appliances will not fit in this space.

2) The vent cannot be installed above the stove. The backsplash team initially missed drilling a hole for the vent, but when they returned, they realized that the hole they drilled for the electrical wire was too low. If the vent is installed as is, it would either leave the electrical wire exposed or floating (not connected to the top shelf). They tried to call Moe while on site at my home, but received no answer, so left until the receive further instruction.

3) Under the countertop, has an unfinished look. Moe said that this was as per the design, but will come back with a filler.

4) The countertop and stove was not per the design, as there was supposed to be more space on the left side of the stove. Moe said he will come back to add a filler on the right side of the stove to compensate for the overhang that was not part of the design.

5) The baseboards and window trim are not painted. We told this to the painter when he arrived but he said to talk to Moe.

Updated review #1:
We have an ongoing kitchen renovation which is past due. It should have been done week of Dec 13th. We raised issues with cabinets which were not installed as designed and agreed. After escalating with Anil in customer relations, then the project manager Moe came on site week of Dec 20th and told us the project would be done Dec 23rd. It is still not completed and no updates. Very sad to have such a poor experience after the positive bathroom reno experience.

Completed our bathroom renovation quickly and with high quality. District manager Mark came to make sure final results were in order. Online quote process was very easy and intuitive. Sales consultant Robert was very helpful to get us set up through the whole process. Thanks!

My experience was great however during the middle of my project I had a project management change which delayed my project months. Once the second project manager, Carmen came on board the basement was finished in no time, I loved the end results despite the delay.

AGM renovated our main bathroom in November 2021. The entire process from initial consultation to finished product took only three weeks. Our renovators Ryan and Bryan were incredibly professional, efficient, kind, and their work is beautiful. The other trades people were also wonderful and great at their work. Overall, we are super satisfied with the final result. Our bathroom looks and works amazingly!
A few words of caution to future customers: please please please ask lots of questions. We were caught unaware that the level 2 shower would not provide enough glass to complete our shower. We had to spend almost $3,000 to buy additional glass. Also, if you are planning on getting heated floors, be aware that this is subject to inspection and will likely incur additional costs. Just be aware that AGM may charge you more money along the process for things the "pop" up.

I recently did a basement renovation with AGM, as usual with any renovation there are few hiccups in the process, but whenever I am having concerns if I raise it, its taken care and craftsmanship involved did amazing job and I am very pleased with quality of work. To add cream to top, project manager Habib is one of a kind who clearly understand your concerns and works hard to make sure it's taken care without compromising quality.
