Hot Water Heater Repair/Replacement

I wish I could choose no stars. Or maybe negative stars.

1. After providing a complete description of our issue and the part needed, and being assured that they had all parts necessary to fix anything wrong with my hot water heater (and then being billed for time and mileage for them to make an out-of-area call), they did not bring the part, nor did they have it in stock, and actually made the issue worse during their inspection.

2. Due to the above issue, I worked out a deal with the owner (perhaps the owner's son? Justin) to have them install a new tank but not charge me the full amount for the initial useless money-grabbing service call. They could not do this as quickly as other companies could have, but I didn't want to be stuck with the first bill.

3. After paying the agreed-upon amount, I was then billed again for an additional amount that was not the first bill, or any other number that had been previously mentioned. When I called to clarify, it was insinuated that I was not telling the truth (despite the opposite appearing to be true), and I was told that if I did not pay, they would either send the bill to a collections agency, or I could take them to small claims court.

Despite the water heater working, it took over a month for it to be installed from the first service call, and they seem to attempt to find every possible way to wring money out of young families that obviously need working hot water. They were also terrible at returning calls regarding any of the above issues.

Do not recommend. Stay far away.

AFTER HOURS SERVICE CALL

My tenant called Total Plumbing after hours because of no heat. Their policy is any rental property calls the landlord would be called before any work is done. This was not done. I brought it to the companies attention with the option of shared responsibility for the work done. They told me they would get back to me which they have not done.
