Job got subcontracted, poor quality.

Called Mike up, said he was working around the corner and would come by that same afternoon to provide a quote.

He sent someone who I later learned is a subcontractor (and who he had never even met in person). A job that was supposed to take 2 days dragged into almost a week. Quality was very poor, tons of overspray, lack of attention to detail, overspray on pavement & sidewalks, and areas that were accessible only via ladder weren't stained at all. For week's afterwards, we noticed more and more deficiencies. It seemed that if it was "out of sight, it was out of mind".

The also subcontractor brought in a helper who drank alcohol on the job which could have been a huge liability.

When I asked Mike to come out and look at the job and take ownership for the poor quality and workmanship, he ignored my request despite taking a 33% commission on the job.

Overall, dissatisfied and job will likely have to be redone.

P.S. Despite response on here by the contractor, we have all the documentation to prove that he took the job, provided the price quote, discussed buying the supplies, etc.

Approximate cost of services:
$4,500.00

Company Response

We were not contracted (or taking commissions) by this individual nor have we met them. They hired a local painter, as this is out of our service area. HomeStars was contacted to inform them of this and they concluded it to be unverifiable and removed it. It only took a couple of weeks later for an aggressive Homestars sales person to push their membership program on me. I declined to pay them, and they reposted this immediately after. It's a bully move on Homestars, specifically Brandon who calls from unknown numbers.
