The owner will tell you what you want to hear then not follow through with what he says. I have many examples of this. Happy to share them.
Some of the major concerns we have with the ensuite redo are:
- what was supposed to be 15-18 days, took almost 6 months (does not include demo which was done 3 months before work was started). Pushed back because they took on a main floor reno elsewhere instead. No lockdowns affected us.
- the rotten, moldy studs (which was the reason for the project) were being covered up instead of replaced
- water pools in all 4 corners of the shower floor
- water spills outside of the glassed-in area
- some electrical needs to be redone (by us because we don’t want them back)
- despite asking and being on them, lack of planning resulted in multiple additional expenses to us that could have been avoided. Replaced clear glass with cheaper green tinted glass without informing us to help themselves with costs due to their mistakes. Other similar situations occurred
- multiple no shows
- no accountability taken for anything and no concerns to fix mistakes (multiple situations)
- did not return the leftover tile (double what was used for the shower floor) until we asked multiple times over 3 months
Attention to detail (which is what they sold us on) is seriously lacking. Online, they state that they protect your home; no dust control and demo garbage left in our garage for months (charged us for the removal stating it was done when it was clearly still sitting there). We have small children wanting to play outside, this was a huge safety concern to us and requested removal multiple times. Did this ourselves which was ¼ of the price they claimed it was at the dump.
Certified electrician and plumber where not onsite every time plumbing or electrical were worked on.
I’m glad this was a trial run for our main floor reno. Major lack of communication with us, as well as their own staff and suppliers.
