This morning the furnace stopped heating. After lots of time wasted getting the runaround from Direct Energy, not even able to BOOK a diagnostic appointment, I gave up and called AFG.
Rafi appeared just over an hour later (I couldn't even get D.E. to reply to a phone call that fast ! ).
He explained what he was doing as he diagnosed the problem and quickly narrowed it down to a high probability of being the controller panel. With an unusual brand of furnace, he tracked down a replacement part in Richmond Hill !!
Once he had the part, he drove all the way back downtown and had the new part installed quickly. He checked all the other parts to ensure everything else was working properly. The house is now nicely warming up.
My repair options were carefully explained before work began so that I was able to make informed decisions.
The repair was, by far, cheaper than replacing a 7 year old furnace.
Rafi was very personable and helpful. The work comes with 3 month warranty on labour and one year on parts, which seems very reasonable.
Very pleased with the service and I'd recommend this company to friends.
