After a year of searching trying to find someone to do a small roof repair, we found Kovar. The job was done on time, and within the estimate. The staff was friendly and made sure the site was cleaned up afterwards. Very satisfied.

Called Jason a few days before we took possession of our house. He had the eavestrough on the day we closed! Fast reasonable job well done! Excellent service. Would absolutely use him next time we need trough or roofing.

Jason and his guys did awesome work and ensured that we were 100% satisfied before seeking any payment from us. He will now work on my neighbor's home next. Keep up the good work guys and you will raise to the top simply by word of mouth.

I was referred to Kovar Contracting by another roofing contractor for a small roof repair job. Jason responded quickly and professionally by phone and email to discuss the job, and to schedule a time to visit the house and assess the scope. Jason showed-up when he said he would, completed the repair, provided follow-up details of what he did and charged a reasonable fee. All in all, an excellent experience with Kovar Contacting.

We recently had our roof done by Kovar Contracting. The process and experience couldn't have been better. Jason was always prompt to reply to all emails, questions and concerns. He and his crew were very polite and professional. This was very important to us as we have a lot of children around the house and never had any issues. Whenever there were any concerns during the job, they provided us with pictures and an explanation prior to performing any extra repairs that needed to be addressed and then pictures of the finished repair. After they were done, they cleaned up without hesitation and doubled up their efforts of finding loose nails because of the higher risk with more children around. We recommend Kovar and would be happy to provide a verbal recommendation as well.

Jason and his crew took the time to listen to my concerns, explain everything, and did a very thorough job. Living in an old house in Centretown, I have found it has some surprises—old shoddy workmanship that sometimes covers up previous shoddy work. So when I needed about 30 ft of new eavestroughs down one side of the house, I wanted to be there for the estimate. Kovar was the only company who agreed to meet me for what seemed like a minor job. While the other companies left an estimate in my mailbox, Jason listened to my concerns and pointed out a few complicating factors, including that the fascia board that the eavestrough would be screwed into had come loose from the side of the house. Without repairing it, any new eavestrough would come down in the next good rain storm. And, there probably had been eavestroughing there, but it had come down because it hadn't been installed properly. He and his team showed me what had happened, how to fix it, and did a great, thorough job. They even came back twice to fine tune the downspout into a lower eavestrough to ensure it would not leak. I highly recommend Kovar.

Late last fall, we realized that we needed some re-roofing work done before the winter. We obtained quotes from several companies but Kovar Contracting stood out as being the most professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Jason came to do an inspection and provided us with an estimate. Instead of rushing to get the work done in the fall, which was not the ideal condtion for re-roofing, Jason advised us to wait for Spring. However, to get us through winter he sent a crew to winterize the roof, the total cost of which was deducted from the re-roofing job. Towards the end of winter, due to the heavy snow fall and freeze-thaw situations, we had considerable ice built-up on the roof resulting in the formation of ice dams and water leaking through the roof. A quick phone call to Jason fixed the problem! He sent a crew to completely clear the snow and ice from the roof and the problem was gone. Early this spring our roof was beautifully and meticulously redone by Team Kovar and I'm very impressed by the quality of the work and level of professionalism shown by Jason and his team. I was also very happy to observe that everybody on the team was very safety-conscious and ensured that safety regulations were followed while working on the roof. The clean-up at the end was a nice finishing touch to a job well done!

Kovar Contracting did a small roof job for us. The roof work actually ended up costing double the estimated price, due to, amongst other things, rotten wood and extra shingle removal. Jason was upfront about all the extra costs and did not go ahead with anything until we had agreed upon. (Note: It was not a gouge, the work needed doing.)

The company did a good job and were quick and neat. They sent copious photos to document the work (both before and after) and Jason was extremely courteous, professional and forthright in all project communications.

Jason and his crew were simply excellent to work with, from initial communication to final payment. He answered emails promptly and courteously, provided a very reasonable estimate, and didn't try to pressure us or add on unnecessary upgrades. The work was done very well and to the given time frame, and the crew were punctual, pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. Jason kept us informed about progress throughout, and provided us with some excellent (and money-saving!) advice about related work. I would highly recommend this company for roofing or eavestroughing work in Ottawa.

I was impressed with Jason's communication skills - he responded within reasonable time frame to emails. He did a good job explaining why he suspected our roof was leaking. He came when he said he would, and only did the minimum work required.

It's too soon to tell whether or not the issue has been resolved, but the experience with Jason and his team was very good.
