I contacted National Star roofing to get an estimate for our house and garage roof. Sokol arrived the next evening and explained the estimate including the material options and the roofing practices their company used, as well as showing me all the Insurance ,WCB,BBB and business license etc. Sokol provided me with some addresses of work they had done in our area and we selected a shingle colour and booked the work. The crew arrived
on Oct 13 as scheduled and completed the work by that evening.
Aleks takes great pride in his work and it is reflected in his hardworking, polite and friendly crew. The end result was a great looking job that is done right. The cleanup was excellent as they cleaned the eaves and left the yard and surrounding area spotless.

Had our Tuscany NW Calgary house reshingled on October 19, 2013. Job was completed exactly as Sokol described in his quote. They had enough people to finish the job in one day. They left the yard perfectly clean. No surprises, great service. Thanks guys!

We have a steep pitch roof (10 5/8" to 12" ) with two large dormers.National Star Roofing came in and re roofed it in two days.
This is a Family roofing company that is very courteous, friendly and puts the customer first. Aleks the foreman said that he would treat our house like he was shingling his own, and I believe he did.
They worked efficiently, quickly and with professionalism. The yard and area was Super Clean when they left. Also of note, no Radio's or loud music while they worked.
We would highly recommend them to anyone.

I had my roof redone by National Star a week ago and it has rained twice since then. Looking in the attic during and after the rain, there were no wet spots in the roof sheeting nor along the trusses. When Sokol comes to give an estimate, he tells you upfront the application techniques they use and why, and the kinds of materials they use. If you want things done a certain way, they will accomodate. I have a poor roof design that actually traps snow. After National Star was done, I'm no longer concerned about leakage in those areas due to the extra precautions taken. The roof being replaced was original which means it was bare bones with no frills. For National Star, underlayment, metal flashing in the valleys and drip edging were all part of the standard package. During the estimate, Sokol stresses their work quality. At first, it's all talk as they all say the same thing. However, after hiring them and watching them roof my house, it's not just talk. At the end of the job, they do bring you up on the roof for a look around but it's best to go outside and stand there and watch them roofing. You get to see things before they are covered up. From what I saw, they were very professional with very few shortcuts taken. The majority of my neighbours have been having their roofs redone by a multitude of different companies over the last year due to last year's hail storm and I've been watching many of the roofing crews work. I'd have to say National Star ranked first for attention to detail and work quality. The crew is mostly family members and they don't sub contract out. So quality from house to house should be consistent from this company. The crew is extremely friendly and easy to talk to. I have two young children and it was nice not hearing offensive language all day long (unlike other crews). The guys at National Star focused on their work instead of pretending they were having a party on top of my roof (unlike other crews). If you hire National Star, you'll get all of this without an upcharge. Their quote was quite competitive with the other estimates I received.

Excellent response, good timeline for work, good value for the price. Lots of extra attention to detail. I had a VERY worn and old shingled roof, all removed and done in a day!!

National Star Roofing just completed our roof and did a great job. I wanted to know if I had hail damage before calling my insurance company. National Star came out promptly and inspected it for free. Most of the other companies did not want to come out and inspect it. The whole service from the quote to finish product was personal and professional. The work on the roof was first class. We have had several roofs done on other properties, National Star's work was the best we have ever seen. As well, the work-site was clean and safe. They even surprised us and did our shed roof for free, even though it was not part of the quote. Great bunch of guys who really know what they are doing.

I just had my roof replaced by National Star Roofing. The crew led by Alex and Sokol did an excellent job, which was way far more than I expected. With quality and safety in the crew's minds, they worked very hard, met every schedule I desired and put the exact materials as indicated in the contract. As soon as the crew started the job on my property, first they covered the drive way with their cover sheet. Especially I have an air conditioning unit, and Alex covered it to prevent any falling objects from damaging it. After the job was done, they invited me to inspect their performance, cleaned the yard and used magnetic tools to detect any left nails and other debris. They not only did on my yard, they also did the same check on each side of my neighbor's yard. They are so unique and responsible. They care quality and do the job like on their own property. In addition, their price was also reasonable. I am extremely satisfied with the job done by them. I highly recommend that any one who needs his or her roof done, please do not miss the opportunity and come to them without a hesitation. National Star is a family company and they treat my roofing as their own. The job was done professional from quoting, roofing till the end of cleaning. Sokol keeps me informed all the way through. At the end, I went to the top of my roof and Sokol gave me a tour of how the job was finished. From what I see during the final cleaning around the house, I know these fellows pay great attention to details. You can simply trust them.

From the thorough estimate to the awesome final clean up, National Star really did a great job. Sokol was available to answer questions and kept us apprised of the progress.
