Fortress windows and doors did a great job on my basement window, and patio doors. They were efficient and the work was done in a timely fashion. The whole process from selection to installation was quick and easy. The prices were very competitive and fair.
Also would like to say that they notice that the manufacture forgot to pack an item in the order. Fortress promised that they would pick up the missing part and come by the next day, I was very impressed that they kept their word and came by the and install the missing part. We highly recommend Fortress for your future projects and we will be using them again for any future projects..

After living in our house for 26 years, it was time to replace the 4 back windows. We met with 3 different window companies and decided to go with Fortress. Firstly because the representative that came to our house really knew his stuff. He took the time to discuss everything with both my husband and myself. A couple of weeks later they came and installed our 4 beautiful new swing open windows, just in time for the summer weather. The windows are easy to open and clean and let a lovely breeze through our house. After the installation my husband was not quite happy with the look of the capping. The installers were back the next day and fixed the capping to everyone's satisfaction. Fortress was easy to deal with and they did not ask for full payment until everything was perfect! We are enjoying the summer weather with all of our new windows open each day. We made the right choice, and I highly recommend Fortress Windows & Doors to anyone needing to update their windows.

Fortress did a great job installing 7 new windows for us, of which we choose to enlarge 5. I had 5 windows installed by them early 2017 and then 2 more late 2018. We were happy with the quality of the windows and the quality of installation, so we ended up being repeat customers for our second set of windows.

We had some minor cosmetic issues with brick work with one of the windows, but, Steve from Fortress made sure to get those issues corrected. Minor adjustments are common whenever working with contractors. It was great that Fortress addressed our concerns and made sure we were 100% satisfied.

One of the biggest reasons I went with Fortress over their competitors was their lifetime warranty, which is very re-assuring when you live in Toronto with sometimes +40 C in the summer and -35 C in the winter!

We needed three windows replaced because their seals had broken down, causing both loss of insulation, and ugly stains between the panes that we couldn't clean. We spoke with four different contractors about this.

One, whom we have used for other work, quoted us a price that was more than 50% higher than we eventually paid, said the windows would have to come from Germany, and that it could take months.

A second said we'd have to tear out the entire window structure, that merely replacing the sealed window units would not work. They wanted substantially more than we were willing to pay to do so.

A third didn't bother to reply after their initial inquiry, but then did so very late in the process with a quote we felt was unrealistically low, probably in a low-ball bid.

Fortress replied promptly, gave us the information we wanted online, came promptly to inspect the windows and give us a written, reasonable quote, sourced the windows locally, and had the job specked & finished within 3 weeks. Steve & Richard were pleasant, even funny, but worked quickly with a minimum of fuss, both during their initial – painstaking – inspection, and during their quick and clean installation. They also replaced a broken window lock for only the cost of the part required – no labour charge.

We are delighted with the results, and would not hesitate to make use of them again when we need windows!

I had my front entry doors replaced. The person I worked with was professional, punctual, and a really nice guy. He was honest and direct, and didn't give me any of those cheesy sales lines that every spews out just to make a sale. He and the other guy who installed the doors were also fast and professional. I am very happy with the results and would recommend them to anyone.

Steve and his crews are amazing. Honest, fair prices and hard working with a focus on the details. 2nd time using Fortress, last time was to replace windows and this time to replace a sliding patio door with double doors. Just listening to the crews working you can tell they want each installation to be perfect. We highly recommend Fortress and will be using them again for future projects.

Met with Steve and he was straight forward on the materials and services he was going to provide with on time completion of work. Excellent company to deal with and will definitely call them again for future projects.

We had a picture window that had a discoloring haze and moisture building up between the panes of glass.
Steve explained that we had seal failure which was causing the problem.
Steve offered to replace the glass to save us some money but we decided we would like to have additional ventalation and bought two opening windows (Steve calls them casement windows).
We are pleased with the product and istallation.
