Carefree Moving

Carefree Moving moved us from Sault. Ste Marie to Ottawa. It was costly, but it was worth it. Yes, I paid a lot, but I got what I paid for. Excellent service, very professional, transparent, and safe. I enjoyed working with everyone from the reservation to dispatch and delivery. We are grateful for your hard work. Your service is definitely something I will use again.

They just completed my move from Toronto to Ottawa. Clean, organized and on-time. Next month, my sister in law will be moving. Carefree Moving is definitely something we recommend for her move. Leo and Ben - big thanks! And Paul, the owner, made it possible for me to visit my house in Toronto to give me an estimate.

Look you guys Carefree Moving came out to move me
I left a picture at the bottom of this review, I had and paid for, 752 cubic ft ,but they came out and said we only had 500 cubic ft, which was the first problem
Second problem I had to pay 1000.00 over the price they gave me third problem even though we agreed to pay the over head, they were soooo disrespectful they ended up driving off, And the forth problem is the truck was sooo full
Our stuff would not fit on that truck and that why I took a pic, proof you guys, this moving company does not treat you right is not professional, remember this Company guys

We used Carefree Moving for the second time and they were outstanding once again. They are the best local movers in the GTA. They respond quickly to emails, provide detailed pricing and quotes and have efficient crews that work fast and efficiently to complete the job. The crew movers and the office staff made moving day less stressful by providing timely and open communication. They were friendly, hardworking and took excellent care of our belongings. They are a great choice and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They should be your first choice when moving in the GTA Area, both locally and long distance.

Carefree Movers drove off on me on my closing day, leaving me to scramble as they were not willing to fulfill their contractual obligations. DROVE OFF ON ME.....Not willing to pay back my depoist....STAY AWAY from this company!

My expensive 2 sitter recliner is not working. I don't know how they treat my sofa.
They showed up late.
When they reach at the destination they will ask you to pay first otherwise they are not going to off load the truck. And they will charge you money according to them.

I sent them email of moving list. They knew about my stuff but purposely they sent small truck, then after hour and fifteen minutes they sent large truck. also charge me for that hour plus additional cost for the new truck. Also they start forcing me to hire 3rd mover that I declined. So they said you have too much stuff that's why it will take more time. They took 10 hours to move 2 bedroom apartment to a small house.

I requested them to plastic wrap everything. Few things they wrapped and half just took without wrapping. They even didn’t bother to tell workers that what and how customer needs their service.

Yesterday was my worst day. I m not recommended to do business with them .

We moved two bedroom unit but we had a lot of items to move, also there was difficulty to access the new place therefore longer distance to lifts than expected. They were extremely helpful, friendly, accurate and perfectly on time. They were very experienced and packed and delivered efficiently. We also had internal very narrow stairs and guys delivered everything down the stairs really well. Great service! Will use it next time 100%! Thank you so much!

We are so very pleased and happy with the entire move. Your gentlemen were so happy and willing, they knew what they were doing and they were very professional. I would definitely recommend Carefree Movers to anyone.
I can’t believe how caring they were with all the stuff, and making sure nothing were be damaged (and nothing was).

The short version of it is that we are very disappointed to say the least and will not recommend anyone to use this service.

The arrived at 9:20 instead of 9:00 am and on their invoice they wrote 9:15
They too six 15 minute breaks
They charged us for 3 movers, but the guy that was the boss, was either managing the other 2, was taking more cigarette breaks, on cell phone talking or texting - so we felt that we overpaid for 2 people
They had told us $35 per appliance but they charged us $45 for each appliance that were on the main floor but over the phone when we were hiring them, he had said that if they not upstairs or in the basement, there would be no charge. When we told them this fact, they said but there were 3 steps in front of the house. Of course in Canada with harsh weather all houses have to be a bit above the street level so snow and water don't come inside. So again, we felt they took advantage of us. 2 of the appliance (washing machine and the dish washer were so light, not even 50 Lbs but they still charged us for them as if they were over weight.
they charged us an extra $45 for each long cabinet/dresser because they could not use their dolly they explained. But when I was interviewing on the phone to hire this company, I asked they if there were any extra costs, fees or charges, they didn't tell me about this extra cost.
they mostly shrink wrapped the furniture that we told them were important and expensive. They hardly used their blankets to cover our furniture.
Many parts of our furniture were damaged because they were not careful handling them and the next morning we noticed that the broken wood splinters and chips were still hanging on the freshly damaged furniture.
Over all, they worked carelessly, were slow, and we were charged for may hidden fees that they did not tell us about up front. At they end we paid a high price for a very low quality service.

We were a bit worried about moving (haven’t moved in 15 years), but they made our relocation seamless and hassle free! They were in contact with us before pick up and drop off of our belongings. Very professional and this was one of the best experience we ever had.
