We agreed on the quote price and gave a deposit back in mid April. Two weeks later I had to phone to see when they would be coming, as I never heard a word back from the company, and we had another company lined up to do additional work on our house that required the roof to be re-shingled first. Ivan said that he would get to our house in the next two weeks so that we wouldn't miss our next appointment. Two weeks later, we still don't have new shingles, and no call from Ivan. So I text to find out whats going on.... Answer: Wind storm messed us up, but we will be there soon. I mention that I understand, but please return me a date in the near future. Response Soon Mike soon! (Like he's yelling at me). Two weeks later I have to text again for a date on installation. Ivan never replies. I have to text again asking for dates. This time he says that he needs to order my material and they should be there in a week. A month ago he said he would starting my roof, now he says he doesn't even have my materials ordered. A week goes by I text again, again, and again. The last email was me letting him know how disappointed I was in his apparent lack of interest in communicating with me. He finally responds that the material would be delivered in a week (that makes two weeks now). Four days later I have to finally cut my loses and give him a deadline of three days to give me a date for the installation. I once again get no response from Ivan, or any one else from Gitson. It was over two months, and they couldn't even give me a proper window of time for the installation, they just keep me hanging on until the end of June. Now I have start all over again in finding a Professional Roofing company to work on my home. Save yourselves the time and energy that I spent on this company, and use someone else for all your roofing needs. I'll be telling everyone about my poor experience with Gitson.

Dave and his crew did a great job on our roof at a very good price. The entire process only took one day and that's including complete removal of the old shingles and installation of 10 vents. We did lots of shopping around and Gitson had the best price for our job. Dave was very friendly and helpful with planning the job and giving us options for our roof. Highly recommended.

Called them for a quote. They were there the next day to give the quote and did the installation within a week. Very happy with the work and they left everything clean when they left. I would recommend them to anyone based on my experience with them. They also offer a 10 year work guarantee.

They replaced my shingles in May. It was leaking after sevral. I called them but they would not like come to repair the leaking. After many calls, they come to repair it for twice, but it still leaking now. I have to use a piece of plastic to cover my roof to prevent the leaking when it rains. One month past, they still didnot finish the leaking repair!

Besides giving me a reasonable quote he cared enough to get my roof patched that same evening, for free. I think he scheduled the work immediately because the crew came 2 days later and finished the job in one day. My new roof looks great and carries a 10 year labour guarantee. Allan, the estimator came on time. Compared to the other companies I also contacted, Allan very quickly and efficiently sized up the job, prepared the quote, and answered questions I had.
A crew of 6 people came. They even have their own flat bed truck equipped with a forklift to deliver the shingles. A supply van also came to provide custom cuts of various materials used in the job. If you were to visit their office and warehouse along Kennedy Road in Markham, you will see the vast amount of roofing materials they have on hand. They have the resources to stay in this business for a long time.
The crew are all experienced hands in this type of work. They already know their roles and just went about them quickly. The only weak area is communication. English is not their first language, and their English verbal skills are rudimentary. However, if your roofing project is pretty straightforward with not much customization involved, this communication gap should not be an issue.

This is a terrible company, they are yes cheaper but you get what you paid for. The quality of the job was ok however their installers were TERRIBLE! They were loud and didnt much care for our lawn or brick driveway. While sliding stuff up and down the front of the house via their ladder they dropped something and cracked one of our brick steps in two, when we confronted the company they denied this was their fault and refused to pay for damages. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone.
