Worst company ever

Vince came, promised to finalize all the work in 2 weeks. It's been almost 5 months, money paid, no one came. I plan to report this business to the BBB. Please don't use them. This is not right and needs to be reported. Vince # is 647-929-4124. Don't use this company at all. Michael.

Shoddy business and services

We hired this company to get black-out blinds installed in our room and another room. The sales person, Paul came and took the measurements and advised us that there would be a minute amount of light seeping from the sides in our room because of the angle of the windows. That was the only complication he mentioned and assured it wouldn't be very significant. So we went ahead with the order and selected the colors and models and signed the agreement. The day of the installation, May 4th 2016, was when the nightmare started. To being with, the installer did not seem to know what he was doing, he was asking us for information on which panel should go on which side and at what angle. This is information which a professional should know about. He installed the blinds in the other room (which we are happy with)but when the blinds were installed in our room it turned out that there was a lot of light seeping from the sides, and this was quite significant, not minute. After contacting Paul about it and sending him a picture of the shoddy job, I was told that he had checked with the office and the office manager Diana and that the issue would be fixed completely in the next visit. So we made the full payment to the installer in cash assuming that this would be fixed.

When the guy came on May 25th to fix the previous installation, it turned out that the side light seeping issue was only fixed on one side. Although I was assured that this would be completely fixed in this visit, that was clearly not the case. So I contacted Paul again and sent him another picture, the same day. Once again he told me that he would have the office look into it again and get it fixed. By this time I was frustrated with the number of attempts made to fix the issue and told him that if the third attempt doesn't result in a satisfactory job, then I would want the money back for the blinds installed in our room only. He then responded to say that he thinks I would not be satisfied with the job even after the third attempt so he said that he checked and confirmed with the office and that they would send someone back to take the blinds back and that person would also bring the cash then for the refund.

So they sent the guy back to remove the blinds on May 30th but they did not send the cash with that person. So I sent that person back saying to come back with the money, as i was told by Paul, and then remove the blinds. After sending the person back I contacted Paul again about the fact that the person showed up without the refund. He asked me to contact the office manager Diana. I managed to speak to Diana the next day who also said that she will look into the matter of how much of the money will be given back and also when to send someone to take the blinds down and that we will be getting money back. She said that she will call back on June 3rd with the time the person will be sent to take down the blinds with the money.

I received no call on June 3rd nor on June 6th. So I called her on June 7th and she told me that she had forwarded my case to this person called John. I spoke to John on June 8th. When speaking to John he said he looked at the picture of the work and in his opinion the job was done perfectly and nothing further could be done. He also said that I was not an "informed consumer" and should have known and expected that the amount of light seeping through would be at that level. I told him about what I was told by Paul and Diana that I would be getting the blinds taken down and would be getting a refund for them but he blatantly denied giving me the money back citing the agreement and also said that we can take him to court over this. I told him that this was wrong and that he is going back on the word given to me by both Paul and Diana and he just closed the phone on me. His attitude was condescending and rude. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the lack of professionalism in the job and with their customer service.

California Shutters

Hi there,

This goes out to anyone looking to use this company! Please don't. This was by far the biggest mistake I have made yet in regards to getting things done to my brand new house.

First all, I had a sales representative who is the owners son and his name is Vince. He was amazing. He was extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful... when closing the sale. After that, it all went down hill. Vince promised me 2 weeks for the installation. Finally received a call, and it was actually 4 weeks after. I was okay with it though at the time because I was so impressed by Vince. Then it got worse. I waited around for 6 hours on a Saturday afternoon when I could of been working double time that Saturday, and guess what? No one showed up to my house. No one even called me to tell me they wouldn't be coming to my house. I was extremely disappointed and upset. I waited for 5 weeks to have these beautiful shutters and now I have none. Not to mention, their call centre does not direct you to their office. What does this mean you wonder? You cannot talk to anyone at their office to find out what happened until after the weekend. Therefore, I couldn't talk to anyone until the Monday morning.

I spoke with Angelina on Monday morning and they couldn't give me any information until they find out what was wrong with the order and what happened. I waited till 12 pm to call them on Monday, so I was mad that no one called me all Monday morning and I had to follow up with them. Otherwise, who knows if someone would of even called me about it. Angelina finally called me back on the Tuesday and told me that they would come to install them 2 weeks later. I was extremely upset and refused to let it happen 2 weeks later. I then immediately requested for my money back as I already waited 2 weeks longer than expected and now would have to wait an additional 2 weeks longer. She then finally made arrangements to have it installed a week later. I requested some money off as this was a bad experience and poor customer service. Angelina came back and said she could give $50 off, however, again I refused that. I wanted 10% off the $2500 I paid for this product and service I "received." She then said she would talk to Vince's father (the owner) and see what she could do. The next day she apparently spoke with him and said he would give $200 off. I accepted as I thought this was it and my problems were solved.

The installers came with the product on the day they promised. I realized they gave me the completely wrong shutters. There is a bar on the shutters to hold all the panels together, this was bar was supposed to be on the inside so you couldn't see the bar. Instead, they came installed with the bar on the front. I didn't want it like that. So they had to take them all out of my house and fix them. They wanted to come yet again a week later. I refused this as well. So they said they would make it 4 days later to drop them off and install. They came back on Family day to install.

Everything seemed to be going good, except then I realized that one shutter doesn't fit properly as it doesn't close properly. I also realized that one of the shutters had a space between the window trim and the actual shutter therefore not lining up and letting in additional lighting from outside. Then on the bottom of the window trim the shutters over hung and went passed the trim. Therefore, it wasn't measured properly. I pointed this out to the installer and he said that's the best he can do, which isn't even the best because other people I know have perfectly fitting shutters and no one I know who have shutters looks like that. I was so upset that he thought this was okay. He then demanded a glass of water. His exact words were "Give me a glass of water." I was extremely mad and furious about the situation. I gave him a part of the balance I owed but didn't give everything to him because I wanted to ensure this company would come back and finish the job.

Tuesday after the holiday, I expected to receive a call from the company apologizing for giving me shutters that don't even fit some of my windows. Nope, I received nothing. Then I realized on my way home from work they charged my credit card for the remaining balance. I tried to call them as soon as I realized and apparently they were gone home for the day.

I called first thing Wednesday (today) morning, to ensure that my money was refunded. They couldn't understand the problem with it and thought I should still pay for the balance even without the correct shutters. I called Visa to complained that the balance was charged to my credit card without my authorization, and the balance were to be paid in cash. Visa explained they should refund me the money and I can pay when the job is actually completed to my satisfaction. I called Angelina and Diana, the rudest people I have ever spoke with, and they instantly became hostile and angry. They claimed that there is no way that there is something wrong with the shutters, but never even asked what the problem was or what happened. I had to constantly tell them to stop interrupting me and stop them from trying to put me on hold so I could finish my story and explain what happened with the installer. They just stuck up for the installer and didn't even apologize or try to even understand my story. They didn't even listen. They refused to put the remaining balance on my credit card because they didn't see anything wrong with what they did. I then told them I would be calling my lawyer and he would get involved instead of me because I did not authorize these charges and it is illegal. She then instantly decided to refund the amount of the remaining balance.

Currently, I am waiting for a different installer to come by my house to "look at what the original installer did." Not the mention, Angelina and Diana are very uncaring in regards to the customers they serve. They never once apologized or tried to help me, they just gave me nothing but a hard time. They didn't even offer to compensate me for the troubles and problems I had. I couldn't even believe they didn't apologize for it. They do nothing but cut you off, and try to consistently put you on hold.

This is a joke of a company and I recommend that NO ONE GO WITH THEM. WORST COMPANY AND BUSINESS EVER.
