It's been smooth up until they got deposit from me, they show up with samples and measure your windows, give a good quote. Take some deposit in cash then never return my calls

This company doesnt care about servicing their clients. They came and took deposit saying someone will come for measurements tomorrow but after taking the deposit no one answered any calls or messages. The owner messaged after I did a google review for them to say that they will refund the money but all day has gone by but no money sent and again no one responding to calls or messages

The WORST customer service ever! I have been trying for almost a year for a service update and I keep getting the run around. From Josh, Vince, and lastly Diana. Receptionist is not any better. What a joke of a company. NEVER deal with this company.

I'll start with "go somewhere else". I've installed the blinds on the entire house back in 2018, a couple of months after there was an issue on one of the curtains and I tried to contact customer service and then COVID stated. I totally understand that there were several limitations due to COVID, but I even recommended them to a friend and they were able to install the curtains for them in no time but to fix mine is taking ages. Tried several things (emails, phone, mailbox, text, etc) but they always push me back using COVID as an excuse.
As of now, I'm placing a complaint under Ontario Consumers Act to see if the matter gets resolved. If you want to file a complaint against these guys just go to the government of Ontario website and search for 'file consumer act complaint'

I will start off with the positive. The sales individual Julian was professional the product is good for the price.

Unfortunately the bad outweighs any of the good. We purchased custom rollers, shutters and custom arch shutters (which had to be specially made). We expected these to take a while and they did. When it came time for the install the installers left screws on the window ledges and with two young children posed a major risk. The installers did install everything except for the custom arches. They were supposed to come and install those in November along with fixing a shutter. Nov 23rd came around and no one showed up or called. I called to be told they were not sure when the arches were coming. I did get a call back later that week saying that Dec 22nd the arches would be ready and they would fix the shutter. On Dec 22nd I got a TEXT MESSAGE the day of the install that the company manufacturing the custom shutters went out of business. They did give me an alternative solution which was appreciated but it was not something I wanted. I asked to speak to the owner and got told I could not. I asked why they didn't still come and fix the shutter that needed repair and they told me they didn't know anything needed repair. They rebooked me for Jan 11th and no one showed up or called. I called and got it rebooked for Jan 23rd. I got a text message THAT MORNING saying no one could show up because of weather. They rebooked me for Feb 10th. I called to check to see and was told someone was coming that day. No one showed up and I didn't get a call. I called on Feb 11th to tell them if I didn't receive a call from the owner that I would be writing this review and that I did not want to receive any more text messages nor that I wanted them to rebook me to fix the shutters. I received a text message telling me I fabricated the story and that the individual did show up. I have a 24 hours camera and was home all day so I know they did not. They also told me that the owner hired customer service and does not talk to the public.

I am not upset that the manufacturer went out of business, I am not upset at the quality of product. I am absolutely disgusted by the customer service and the clear lack of care for their customers. Text messages are not ok and when you have a situation like this to not be able to speak to someone is frustrating. The cherry on top is being told you are the one with the wrong story.

anyway in summary if you want a cheap shutter option with no "real" warranty that comes with headaches this is your place.

I recently had my zebra blinds installed and I am so impressed. From start to finish this company went above and beyond. I went. with a light filtering white for my main floor and a room darkening white for my bedrooms. This absolutely changed the look of my home. Thank you again and I highly recommend!

Stay away from this joke of a company! There are many more reputable blind and shutter companies in the Toronto area that make superior blinds at a very competitive price. The Blind and Shutter Outlet is not the only go to company for window coverings.

I regret that I had not read the reviews on Homestars prior to ordering shutters from this company. The stories presented are remarkably similar to my experience with this company.

They took my deposit and have not shown up twice to two scheduled appointments. No phone calls, or return of calls inquiring where they are. Nothing. I also took a day off work waiting for one of my "scheduled" appointments.

Highly unprofessional and a Mickey Mouse outfit.

Stay away and look elsewhere!

June 22 2021 they took a deposit from my parents (78 years old) of $200. And that was the last we seen of them. They made 3 different appointments, made my parents wait all day, and never showed, nor will they answer the phone, return a call or return the deposit. DISGUSTING HUMANS !!!

I ordered the blinds on Oct1 and they got installed on Nov 25 2021. There was no email or text follup even after several calls and had to chase my order to get done completely unfair to customer none of the sales people responded to my texts or calls. Next time will have to think before i give them a referral or get anything from them very poor customer service
