Adequate Solutions

We recently hired Adequate Solutions to work on the roof and gutters of our home in North Burnaby. The house is 110 years old, 4 storeys high, with a roof so steep that when we replaced the shingles 25 years ago, the first 4 companies we approached wanted nothing to do with working up there. However, Yuri - the contractor with Adequate Solutions - is a dedicated mountaineer who seems more comfortable at the top of a 40-foot ladder than down on the ground. He was the perfect guy for the job.

We needed the asphalt shingles cleaned of moss and sediment, several sections of downpipe removed or repaired, gutters washed and cleaned, and all the windows washed. Yuri did everything thoroughly and conscientiously. Wearing his safety harness, he spent many hours scraping the entire roof by hand. The old gutters were all scrubbed clean. A couple of downpipes had become completely clogged with sand and grit from the shingles. He swapped them for new ones, including a tricky section that angled around a corner.

Although it can sometimes Yuri a while between visits to show up again, he works diligently and efficiently, cleaning up after each session. He knows his craft well and is happy to take on additional tasks, whether painting a pipe or re-installing a gutter to the proper angle. His pricing is fair and his terms are reasonable. He tells you everything that requires servicing, and theres no up-selling or inflating the to-do list. Hes also very friendly and trustworthy.

I can easily recommend Adequate Solutions for any home services that require long ladders and lots of experience. I expect to hire Yuri again someday.

April.2022, Windows Cleaning done with high quality a) We appreciated the fact that they did actual hands-on cleaning of the windows rather than just pressure washing. b) Hard-to-reach windows were cleaned as well c) Gaden's flowers and seedlings are not dented by used equipment. Glass patio cover was especially challenging. It was for the 2nd story deck and was very hard to reach. They did a great job power washing it that it now looks brand new.
I have already recommended them to several friends.

I cleaned out the gutters of my house a couple of weeks ago and noticed that one of the downspouts was clogged so badly that no water could run through it and it was leaking at the seams. So last week I searched on Homestars and had a few replies. Iouri said he could come out the following day, Saturday. He arrived right on time, unscrewed the downpipe, cleaned out the debris, crimped it and replaced it at a better angle so that it will be less likely to clog again. He then poured water through to check that it was running through without any leaks. There has been lots of rain this week and it is running smoothly. Thank-you Iouri for doing a great job!

Cleaned out gutters including our detached garage and provided detailed report on potential deficiencies of our rubber membrane that may need some attention in the near future.

Also helped to reduce the noise of one downspout near the bedroom at no extra charge.

I was completely satisfied with gutter cleaning job Adequate Solutions provided. Because we have some other job scheduled for later Yuri came on weekend, did very good job and answer all my questions. We used his help before and definitely call him again when need help with gutter cleaning or repairs.

Iouri did a fantastic job! He carefully sealed the leaking gutter porch seam and also added an attachment at the back to prevent water from landing on the fence post.
