Possible asbestos powder on my basement floor
We have 45 year old tiles on our floor which are starting to lift and leaving a white powder on the concrete.
A flooring company told me the powder (from a photo) that the powder may be asbestos and recommended Metro to me.
I called and Jamie (I think that is his name) came and told me that he believes the tiles are asbestos, the powder looks like efflorescence and my problem may be drainage. He also gave me an estimate to remove the tiles in a safe manner. He also that everything is safe as long as I leave it alone. When I determine my options, he will test the tiles and residue to determine if I do in fact have asbestos tiles. The cost for the test will be included in any contract price to remove the tiles.
