Spano Paving

The quality of the paving work done on our driveway was worth every penny.Charlie and his Spano crew gave all indications of a very tight knit crew.All working to provide an excellent job.I have waited years to get our old worn out driveway done.With the job completed my wife and I extremely happy.It was the finishing touch on our home.Thankyou.

Very pleased with the quality of the workmanship; the caliber of the crew ( artisans of their craft). From start to finish; from first questions, cost estimate, explanations. Frank even trouble shot the potential future problems we might have with the cracked ditch sidewalls. He suggested we get this work completed before the final paving is done. Even though delaying this job, could now cost Him more to return ( he had 3 other jobs nearby).

I called Frank about a sinkhole that was forming at the edge of the garage. They had paved the driveway a couple of years ago and just recently a sinkhole had started forming on the edge of the cement garage floor. This had happened on my last driveway as well due to settling under garage. I called Frank and told him the problem. He showed up a few weeks later and fixed the problem. He fixed it free of charge.

We wanted to expand our boulevard drive way and I contacted 3 companies. The first company gave me a quote without even looking at our driveway. Another company took 4 days to get back to us. Spano paving (Frank) was the only company that answered the phone and made an appointment.

When I first met Frank he was easy to talk with and professional. He measured our driveway and calculated the price. He told me what his plan was and the type of asphalt he was going to use.

The drive way was going to be done in two phases. The first was to get rid of the old drive way, expand the boulevard, and lay down crushed limestone. I personally was impressed by the whole thing because Frank (who is also the owner) was really involved. He seemed like a lead from the front kind of guy. He is also a perfectionist. Frank took a shovel and rake from one of the pavers and taught him what looked like how to properly level and edge the limestone. Phase one took about 2 hours (they also did the neighbour's).

Phase two was laying the asphalt after 3-4 weeks. That also took 2-3 hours because they did both our neighbours.

If you're looking for pavers look at they type of work they do. How clean the edges are and the quality. I pointed out to my neighbour that when you walk around the neighbourhood and see the people getting their driveway done, those that are not done by Spano are very different. For phase one we noticed that other pavers just use dirt or no where near the amount of limestone Frank uses. Also look at how clean and deep the edging of the driveway is. Then there's the laying of asphalt. No excess asphalt on walkways. Levelled to the walkways and sidewalks. We are very happy with Frank and the craftmanship of his team.

Frank was great to deal with. He was professional and on time with all parts of the project. We were recommended by neighbours and we are so glad we went with Spano. Trustworthy and committed to quality workmanship. Thankyou for a great job!

Talked to Charlie in the spring about driveway renovations and I wish I took his recommendation then. Waited for the city to repair curbs and concrete contractors for other job. When it came time to paving the driveway, near the end of fall and yes it took that long. Charlie came to the rescue to get the job done before the winter. It was a bit harder for him because I didn’t listen to his recommendation, but he ensured me that I would be okay. After he left I sure felt okay and nice to hear the complements from neighbours. They know who to call now when they redo theirs. There has been 4 different paving companies on our street this year and I think moving forward all my neighbours know who to call now.

Spano Paving did a neighbours driveway last year. I was very impressed with the quality of work so I got in touch with Frank to do my driveway. They came with a large crew of very professional people who I could see knew their job well. It looks great and I'm so very pleased with the quality of workmanship. Everything was left clean and tidy and they even taped the driveway off for me. Some companies don't bother doing this simple thing and leave it up to you to find tape and something to tie it to. Frank from Spano made regular rounds in our neighbourhood over several years, we kept in touch and watched them do work in the area. When we were ready we gave him a call - true to his word, he upheld the initial quote, and showed up on time right from the beginning. They removed the paving and put a nice deep underlay, let it sit for several weeks. He recommended a contractor for doing our walkway and then together they coordinated the timing. No sooner was the hardscaping done (fantastic workmanship too), the driveway was done. They were fast and professional and very clean and tidy. Really great work - we are very picky, but we are so happy to recommend Spano!
