Fixing Toilet

Called them & I was told that it cost ~36 for a plumber to come & appraise the situation & give me an estimate, then I can decide if I want the repair or not.

The plumber came, spent few minutes, look at the back of toilet & pointed to obvious area which was broken for past few months & said this parts are broken. It will cost you roughly $200 to get fixed or get a new toilet. I said thank you but not interested to get it done today. He said well now I serviced your toilet, it will cost you $200. you just pointed to an obvious broken part & want to charge me for the entire cost of repair without doing anything.

DONT Waste your money, the dispatcher doesn't help you to all, you are on your own if you have a problem with the plumber

Service

My mother (91 yrs) needed her sink unclogged. Heinz arrived and unclogged the sink ($300) and then told Mom her water pressure was too high and it was against 'code. Installed a pressure reduction valve ($850). She had never had a problem in 50 yrs with water pressure. Total working Tim 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. It is criminal how they gouge and take advantage of old people.

Leak in Laundry Room

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS COMPANY. THEY PROVIDED THE MOST APPALLING LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER WITNESSED. THEY ARE INCREDIBLY UNCARING AND UNRESPONSIVE AND ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

Main sewer line cleaning

Had company auger out my main sewer line mid-July. Problem returned in December. Booked another appointment to see if I could get it repaired again. Company didn't show up for appointment claiming trouble with other job in progress. Re-booked for early next morning. Company still missed appointment claiming same reason. Waited all day for both appointments. They would not give me any response except the technician was running late and would phone when he is able to come for job. After two days with a backed up sewer I decided to find help elsewhere.

Major overcharge for basic services!

I was charged $760 to unclog a toilet....my review could stop there as that's enough said.

I used ARO for the first time for my rental property in Edmonton. After 4 days of leaving messages for the manager at ARO Plumbing, Peter finally called me back (that was
painful) I spent 25 minutes on the phone with him hearing stories about how his grandfather used to tell
stories about using quality service providers vs the cheapest, and how his wife brought his $600 car in for
$2500 worth of service at the dealership, and how their pricing is constantly measured against the
competition for reasonability. In the end I asked him whether $760 was reasonable to unclog a toilet, or
phrased differently, if $380/hr is a reasonable charge for a plumbers time, labour only. In the end he
agreed to credit back a whopping $100. So in the end I paid only $660 to unclog my toilet, and by the way, I didn't even get a new toilet for that...

A very sad customer.

Terrible service

We had an issue a few weeks ago with our water tank leaking and you cam to "fix it". Less than one month later it is leaking again. I called to have this "fixed" again yesterday and no one came. I was told that someone would be at my house between 7am-9am next day and no one came. So i decided to call another plumber as this leak is destroying our floors But the other guys said since your company did the repairs it would be best to deal with you. I called again and spoke to your not so customer serviced based receptionist to find out that she would not send anyone to come until between 3pm-5pm, which is probably closer to the time that some one would have showed up anyway. Now I am very skeptical that anyone will actually show up which is why I am posting this here. With my experience, I would not recommend them. Please read other reviews, they also go by Need A Plumber Canada.

Furnace Repair

Employed the services of ARO Plumbing to fix our furnace and received an invoice that appeared highly padded. It did not separate the labor and the part replacement details, as well it characterized the furnace as a speciality model when it was not. This all appeared rather suspicious and consequently we asked to see the invoice for the part that was replaced, because we believed that the part price that was quoted was in fact much less. Although we have repeatedly asked management to provide the supplier invoice for the part that was replaced or even to provide the contact details of their supplier so that we could follow up with them, they continue to give us the runaround and consistently provide us with excuses. We ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because we believe they are a dishonest company.
