Pacific Rim Cabinets recommended RJS Stone for the countertops in our new kitchen. Upon visiting the RJS showroom we placed an order for Caesar stone counter top and a maple butcher block with food safe finish for the island. The Caesar stone counter is well done and we are happy with it. However, the finish on the maple butcher block we ordered for the island from RJS stone was defective. The wood was dry, it stained easily and the grain lifted when wiped with a damp cloth. We brought this to RJS attention immediately with photos and phone calls. Shakeel tried to rectify situation but had no support from the management/owner. We finally paid the local furniture finisher $350 to finish the product to the standard we had ordered. If a problem arises with this company satisfactory service will not be guaranteed! We do NOT recommend doing business with this company.

With regards to this particular job please note the following
1. The Butcher block top was supplied by a third party manufacture
2. As this is not our Business of expertise we refer to the experience of the Mfg. to rectify the problem
3. RJS Stonetops. had contacted the customer and tried to arrange a pickup Time and Date to address the problem and at that time the Customer was not happy with the time frame 10-12 working days and had informed us that he had another local company to fix the problem and had asked us to pay for the extra invoice
This type of arrangement is not acceptable in our industry at ever and we both offered to fix the problem at our cost without question
but could not honor the timeline requested
at that time the Customer offer no other option to move forward
it needs to be said that RJS Stonetops Management / Owner fully supported Shakeel with regards to this situation and not sure why the Customer has taken this position and their comments and unfounded
if the customer had offer another time frame that was reasonable this problem goes away
