Pest Solution Services Bed Bugs Specialist

I discovered some bug bites that suggested I'd somehow brought home bed bugs. Online homework made it clear they're very hard to get rid of without the help of an expert, so I hopped onto Homestars and settled on Muhammad Akram and Pest Solution Services. Not only does he advertise himself as a bed bug specialist, but plenty of reviews suggest he's the guy that manages to get bug problems under control when competitors fail to do so. I can't comment on the quality of those competitors, but I can definitely say Muhammad gets the job done. He replied to my initial email pretty much immediately, and came out on a public holiday (!) for the initial (and very thorough) inspection of my bedroom. He discovered the early beginnings of an infestation in my bed slats. He then returned two days later to treat the entire room. Again, he was extremely thorough, making sure not an inch of my bedroom was left untreated. It's two weeks later now, and I've been blissfully bug-bite-free all that time. Muhammad's been round for a follow-up call earlier today, to verify his treatment was successful. By all accounts, it looks like it was! In the interval, I've annoyed him with countless questions (I was getting a bit bug-paranoid), and he always got back to me promptly, with solid info... I'm actually getting itchy reliving these past two weeks (all in my head, luckily), so I'll just skip straight to the conclusion: Pest Solution Services are absolute experts when it comes to bed bugs -- you'd do well to give them a call if you think you have a problem. (In fact, I strongly suggest you call them sooner rather than later. Read up on bed bugs on the web. You'll soon realise acting fast is key to keep both the bugs and the costs under control). Oh, on top of everything else: Muhammad's a really nice guy -- worth a mention!

Edit: it is now almost a year later. I contacted Muhammad again after discovering two bug bites that had me worried I'd inadvertently brought home new bed bugs. He was very quick to respond, as before, and dropped by for a new inspection the day after I got in touch. (Looks like my paranoia got the best of me: no signs of a new infestation -- my sense of relief is palpable!). Once again great service. Thanks, Muhammad!

I called Muhammad, who answered his phone and he was able to come that same day, after I noticed white insulation constantly drifting down from the top of my deck. Muhammad came when he promised, did a thorough investigation and discovered the black ant problem. Timely, professional and a very nice person - Muhammad solved the problem first time out. When we realized we had bed bugs in the house I came to Home Stars and was impressed with the reviews for Pest Solution Services. Once I contacted Mr Akram I was even more impressed. He answered my call immediately and set up a time for treatment. The treatment was extensive, every piece of furniture was moved, every nook and cranny was inspected. He explained the system of steaming, high powered vacuum, and pesticide. It took two days as we were infested worse than we thought. We also bought the bed bags for a reduced price. It's been two weeks, Mr Akram has been back to follow up and sprayed more pesticide into the floorboards just to be safe but we haven't seen a live bug since he first treated the house. This was extremely stressful and also expensive but worth every penny. Imagine if we'd had to throw out and replace all that furniture (our bed alone is worth $3000 never mind the rest of our furniture). Peace of mind is priceless. Thank you thank you thank you!

Akram is the man! When we discovered we had a bed bug situation, we initially tried to tackle the problem ourselves. This was futile and stressful! After calling a number of pest control companies, we opted for Akram because he seemed to be the most knowledgable and we felt we would get a quality service. Akram was thorough and successfully treated our home. It has been 4 weeks and we are bed bug free, sleeping peacefully at night and not having to worry about us or our 3 children being bitten. While I hope I never have to use his services again, Akram was respectful, prompt, and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his company!

I cannot say enough about the service I received from Akram at PSS. I will recommend him to all my friends and family. I was 7 months pregnant and my husband and I had just moved into our new home which had been vacant for several months. Our excitement turned into disappointment, anxiety and fear as we were soon covered in bites from which we assumed were bed bugs. We called several different exterminators and were quoted outrageous amounts for a simple inspection and would be charged for every follow up treatment as necessary. The amount charged for an inspection at PSS was reasonable and Akram, the owner of PSS personally showed up on a Saturday morning and within minutes of his assessment determined our problem-fleas from the animals that had been in our house while it was vacant. Again, we were quoted and charged a reasonable amount for the extermination of the fleas and were assured that we would not be charged for any necessary followup treatments. He also made sure that the treatment of our house was done safely for our family, and being 7 months pregnant this was especially a concern. The fleas were dealt with successfully with one treatment and have not returned (our little one is now 2 months old) and Akram took the time to follow up and make sure we were still pleased and there was no further problems. Simply put the service was exceptional! Akram provided great credentials, always pleasant and empathetic to our problem and did a fantastic job. Hire PSS if you need an exterminator you will not regret it!

I cannot recommend Akram more highly. I put off writing this review for several months because I wanted to know, with utter certainty, that the pests that had plagued us were gone. Well, it's now been three months and we have been absolutely bed bug free. What I appreciated most about Akram was his thoroughness, and his concern for my baby and toddler's safety. Other companies we'd consulted wanted to spray down the whole house. Akram, however, only sprayed the two areas where he discovered the bugs (master bedroom and luggage storeroom in basement), thereby limiting the amount of chemicals my family would be exposed to. He then steam-cleaned anything else he considered a potential hazard. I also cannot say enough about how thorough he was -- he spent two days at our home, and disassembled our bed in its entirety before discovering ONE SINGLE egg (which, by the way, he found by scent -- almost as quickly as the bed bug sniffing dog we'd used from another company the day before). I highly, highly recommend Pest Solution Services, and if I could give it a higher rating than 10 -- I certainly would.

I contacted Pest Solution Services after seeing the positive reviews on Homestar, and was especially compelled by the fact that Akram who runs it, is an entomologist. I had found a single bed bug the night before and was in quite a state about the infestation and disruption potential they posed. Akram responded promptly and clearly with instructions on preparation, and came the following day to treat my apartment. He did a thorough job in bedroom and living room, and has just left after the 2 week check-in which gave my flat a clean bill of health. Akram was incredibly friendly and kind, going out of his way to help, including buying me mattress and box spring covers the next day from an exterminator wholesale store at greatly reduced prices from sleep city or the brick. I am also impressed with the 6 month warranty on his service, which gives a lot of peace of mind that one would not be shelling out large amounts of money again if bugs reappeared a few months later. All in all, I thoroughly endorse Akram and Pest Solution Services as a great service to deal with the horrid experience of a bed bug in the house.

In the last week of June (June 26th and on), I noticed a few bites on my son’s arms and neck. I asked him what happened and since he works outdoors, he attributed them to mosquito bites. By the following week (July 7th) they seemed to be getting worse and I thought it might have been a rash and asked him if he had used anything different on his skin and he said “sunscreen”. We thought the combination of heat and sunscreen had caused the irritation. Finally on the 12th of July, I noticed it getting worse and asked him to remove his sheets from his bed because I believed it was the detergent causing this outbreak. Much to our surprise it was not! He instantly reported that there were a few bugs underneath his sheets and I quickly ran in to inspect. Not only were there bugs along the edge of the mattress but there was fecal matter (black like dots) on his box spring and bedskirt. I quickly went onto the internet to find out what this could be and was horrified to find out it was “BED BUGS.”

I contacted my husband and informed him of the horrific news, we both agreed to have a professional deal with this because it was a territory that neither my husband and I were familiar with. That was when I found Akram from PSS. Akram had a very high rating on HomeStars.com, he used an IPM system and most of all was an Entomologist. I quickly called him that day (July 12th) and his earliest appointment was for July 14th at 9:00am. In the interim, I ran out to Dollarama and bought 20 plastic tarps, 4 rolls of packing tape, shower caps, gloves and a box of hefty garbage bags from Home Depot. I returned to the infested room and placed all of the linens into the garbage bags for disposal, along with the items on my son’s night stand (lamp, alarm clock, etc). We wrapped and taped up the box spring, mattress, headboard, railings and area rug, so that that nothing could escape. We rented a cube van and drove it directly to the city dump. We placed all of his belongings in to hefty garbage bags and placed them in our shed for later inspection and taped off the door so nothing could escape.

On the 14th of July, Akram arrived at my home and noticed a can of raid on my front porch. He quickly asked what I had used it for and I told him it was for the ants outside on my driveway. He was very relieved to hear that I did not try to use the can raid on the bed bugs because that could have worsened the situation. Within 2 minutes of entering my son’s room, Akram was able to show me where a bed bug was hiding on my son’s night stand along with a nest of eggs which he quickly wrapped and discarded. Upon further examination, he informed me that I had a high infestation of bed bugs, nymphs, eggs and feces. Akram asked several questions regarding my son’s where a bouts (travelling abroad, visiting people, etc.). I told him that he had been working the entire time with the exception of seeing a movie. All of a sudden, the lights switched ON! It had to be the movie theatre!!! I was so numb...how could this have happen to us? Akram also showed me feces near the top of my son’s shelves. He told me that I could save the furniture if he dry steamed it. I asked him to steam it all, even though I had no intentions of keeping the furniture. I just wanted to make sure that they were ALL GONE!!! Around 2:30pm, Akram reported he was done and I asked him if he could inspect other parts of my home which he was more than happy to do. I was thrilled to hear that he did not suspect further infestation.

Today (July 20th) Akram returned for second inspection and injected a bed bug powder into the cracks and crevices in my son’s room and closet and told me that its’ effects should last up to six months.

In conclusion if you remotely think you have bed bugs, DO NOT TRY TO HANDLE IT YOURSELF! I would highly recommend you contact Akram from PSS. He is a true professional in his field and has only your best interest at heart. In the end, Akram will save you time, money, grief and most of all...give you peace of mind.

I am so happy with the service I received from Akram of PSS that I am writing this review.
Akram came to take care of an ant (and other bug) problem that I had in my backyard. He was so thorough and detailed, took a long time to go over every inch of my back and front yard to ascertain the exact problem and then did the treatment. He poked in every hole and potential breeding place that he could find and went to work to rid my property of the bugs.
This gentleman is very knowledgeable about insects - he is an entomologist who really understands the habits and lives of insects, so really knows how to solve the problem. I also found him to be a very honest, detailed and professional person, and would recommend him to anyone that wants the job done right the first time. He charged me a very good and fair price for the work done - especially in consideration of the time he took.
Akram is the only person I will call in the furture if I have a pest control problem.
p.s. At the end of the treatment he gave me a printout with details of the chemicals used - very useful in case of issues and for awareness of what was used around my home.

I was horrified to realize that we had bedbugs.This was after two months of thinking my constant itching was mosquitoes. I called Mohammed Akram on July 2nd,& he promptly made an appointment for that day for an inspection. He is knowledgeable,friendly,and a true specialist in his field. As a scientist /entomologist,he understood what we were dealing with in bedbugs,and most importantly how to get rid of them permanently.
On Thursday,he came as planned and spent nine intensive hours in my home. I am so impressed with his work ethic and assurances that these blood-sucking little vampires would be gone. Well,last night was the first restful sleep I had, not having to worry about the bugs.
THEY SEEM TO BE GONE..& I am so LUCKY to have contacted MR. Akram & his company PSS.
The last 2 months have been very stressful not knowing what the problem was. He also cleaned the carpets of the bugs with a dry cleaning system. I live in a semi-detached home ,and would never have dreamed this would happen to us. At the end of the cleaning & application of the chemicals,Mr. Akram gave me more info on the chemicals used & the procedures. I was always informed of what would happen & what we had to do to rid our home of the disgusting pests.He investigated everywhere,baseboards,under furniture,curtains,all nooks & crannies were checked.
So ANYONE in Ontario who is invaded by BEDBUGS,PLEASE call PSS & Mohammed Akram.Your problem will soon be gone & it will be just a nightmarish memory! He took photos of the vermin so I could see where they were infesting the most. With us,it was the 3 bedrooms,& in the living room.There is a follow up in 10 days TO CHECK AGAIN & MAKE SURE THE BUGS ARE GONE FOR GOOD.
I hope to never have to use PSS again,but it is so reassuring to know that if I have the problem again (HOPE NOT) PSS is there.
He didn't just spray & that's it! There was a procedure & scientific knowledge of the bugs,as he is an educated professional.. You can't hire anyone better!
