Newtech Appliance Repair & Refrigeration

Called Amin of Newtech after searching the internet for repair services for fridges. Our fridge had began making horrific noises the night before and we had visions of having to go out a buy a new fridge the next day. Decided to call for a repair technician to help us decide whether it was repairable or should be replaced. Amin came within the hour, diagnosed the problem quickly and had it repaired (and cleaned) within the hour. Plus while he was there he also cleaned and serviced our dryer. Before he left, he took down the info for the fridge in case something else went wrong so he could order any parts quickly in the future. He provided great service, was very knowledgeable about both appliances, gave us tips on how to maintain the fridge and dryer by cleaning the coils, and his prices were very reasonable. I will highly recommend him to all my friends and neighbours!

My call was answered right away, appointment was booked within 2 days. Amin came and fixed the stove within a hour. The price is very reasonable. We are happy with the service and will use Newtech again in the future.

Last year I called New tech to check out our dryer which had completely stopped working. Amin was prompt and courteous and after diagnosing the problem told us it needed a new control board!! Amin strongly advised us to fix it. We just thought it would better to buy a new one the way things are made these days but luckily we listened to Amin. Its been over 10 months and it is still working like a charm! Amin saved us a lot of money and with quick efficient service we couldn't be more grateful.

We called at 9am, he answered right away and even showed up sooner than he said he could - very efficient, respectful and got the job done quick as well.

Amin was punctual, efficient and thorough. However, I'm unable to rate Newtech's service as highly as others have. Potential customers should be aware that Amin works alone. So they must be willing and able to assist him. Installing the element assembly is NOT a one-person job. I didn't mind helping, and I'm agile enough to crawl inside the appliance when the drum is removed. Yet, the process of aligning the part with the screw holes (me inside; him outside) was difficult, cramped and time-consuming. His rates are reasonable, but they're not low enough to preclude an assistant. Amin informed me that "he'd need my help" which surprised me. (After all, I'm the customer.) Thinking about it afterwards, I found myself wondering what would have happened if I'd been elderly or disabled. Does he have someone he calls in such situations? Is the appointment rescheduled? This is clearly a way of keeping costs down, and perhaps Amin passes those savings on to his customers. Still, it strikes me as an odd way to run a business. At the very least, clients ought to be informed beforehand that their assistance might be required. Re: the question of whether or not I'd call Newtech again: It would depend on the problem; whether or not Amin could fix it on his own; and what MY role in the operation was likely to be.

I'm posting again in reply to Amin's response to my review. He didn't, nor COULD he have (It's physically impossible!), install the element assembly without my help. (That's the point I was trying to make.) Neither was I suggesting that another "technician" should have been present. Someone to hold a part or hand tools to the person performing the work needs very little training or expertise. My dad was a contractor, and I did the kind of job I'm talking about (as a plumber's helper) for a summer when I was in high school.

Amin came and fixed our stove in our basement suite in Coquitlam and he came promptly, was very polite and gave us great value... He saved us a lot of money since we thought we might have to buy a new one... Now it works better than ever.

Our dishwasher was acting up with over-foaming, and even though Amin came out to repair our washer (broken door switch), he saved us a ton of money by advising us the right kind of detergent as well as the correct amount to use (2 tbsn). Too much is no good. Prompt Courteous efficient and fit us into his schedule a day earlier than expected. Very proficient diagnosis and fast repair of the out of warranty washer. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Our Kenmore washing machine suddenly stopped working a few days ago. Long story short....the door switch had worn out. It was a common problem according to amin, the repair technician. As we all know, a broken washer is an inconvenience. Thus after an internet search and reading the reviews, we settled on Newtech appliance repairs. Amin was able to fit us into his busy schedule. Prompt, efficient, courteous and professional. Definitely recommended.

I am a single, female homeowner with little to no home maintenance knowledge. I really appreciate the prompt, honest and great overall service! Not only that, but the extra advice on appliance maintenance is appreciated.
