I highly recommend Ottawa Building and Foundation Repair Inc.

We were in the process of buying a house that needed work on the foundation - moldy wood paneling in the basement was a sure sign that the block concrete had cracks in it (house was built in 1940s or 50s).

Nathan came to look at the house and gave us an estimate. He was great - honest, not alarmist, friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a very detailed quote which allowed to us to show the sellers of the house the work that needed to be done for easier negotiations.

We bought the house! And decided to go with Nathan's company based on the professionalism and detail that went into his quote and also just the general feel that he was a good guy (and the other Homestar ratings too).

The work was done to our complete satisfaction - excavated around the three original block concrete foundation walls, patched all the cracks (of which there were many), new weeping tile, water membrane, removing and reinstalled back steps/deck, repaving part of the driveway, replanting a tree (twice! because we wanted it "a little to the left" and they couldn't have been nicer about it), etc.

We had removed the moldy wood paneling before Nathan and his crew (great guys, super friendly) started and had revealed an old chimney hole for an old wood stove that was patched up oddly (someone way back in the day had stuck a rock in there and then just put insulation? like why?) and some other holes and Nathan had his guys fix that all up for us.

They also were going to install a new sump pump but the one that came with the house was in fine working order so they kept it and knocked off some of the price (honest company) but professionally re-did the sump pit (it was just like a makeshift hole in the corner but now is a real sump pit with a plastic drum and cover).

Anyway, quite the novel here but all this to say that Nathan was great to do business with and I highly recommend him and his company.

When I asked him for an estimate, he arrived on time, explained the technical aspect of the required repair and provided me with a very reasonable estimate of the cost. He then e-mailed me a written work order containing exactly what will be done and the agreed cost.
(2) Before the start of the work, I asked him to do some additional repair work that was not included in the original order. He told me that the extra work is not significant and he will do it with no charge.
(3) His staff (Salim) arrived on time. He was thorough and professional. He explained to me how he will do the work, and skillfully completed the required repair on time.
(4) One week after, I received an e-mail from the company Owner/Manager containing my receipt and a written warranty for the comleted work.
Finally, I wish to thank the owner/manager and staff of this company for their tecknical skills, effeciency, professionalism and excellent client service.

Nathan and his team worked seamlessly to complete the job promptly. I really appreciated the courtesy and joy with which the team did their work. There were no loud voices or music disturbing the neighbourhood, and Al, Salim and Joel were particularly focussed on producing a superb quality product. Thank you to all, during trying weather and unexpected surprises.

We had a concrete porch that was crumbling in certain areas. We obtained several quotes. Nathan's was in the middle. He was personable, explained the job in detail but at a level we could understand, and showed class by not running down the competition as some had done. He was reasonable in our negotiations, and suggested various alternatives that could save us money, all the while describing the pros and cons of each. His crew were professional and friendly. A problem arose during the job. When it was brought to his attention, he had his men fix the minor damage it had caused to our cold-storage room ceiling (at no cost to us; what's more, it took several hours and crew members to repair it, all on his dime). The job took longer than expected due to the weather and delays with the concrete supplier he deals with, but we are very satisfied with the end result.

Older (100+ years) house in downtown Ottawa, with occasional, localized leakage in the basement during winter rain / freeze-thaw cycles. A total of 5 bids were received. The written quote / statement of work from Mr. Nathan Sally was detailed, clear and well organized. Based on a number of rounds of clarification and ‘what-if’ scenarios, well supported by Nathan, a decision to proceed in early-summer 2016 was finalized. The initial agreement, and subsequent changes, provided an ‘end-to-end’ solution, including partial repaving of a driveway impacted by the work. While some elements, such as paving, could have been handled separately, the ‘end-to-end’ solution worked well in this case. Overall, a clear project plan was developed, refined and followed throughout. As work progressed, two different options surfaced. For this particular job, bringing the driveway-side foundation fully up to 2016 standards was chosen and successfully completed.

The hardworking crew were excellent! One of the very best we have ever had at the house. They were very willing to explain what was being done, and why. The crew were considerate of the neighbourhood (noise, dust,...) and also cleaned up the work area at the end of each day.

Although untested by winter conditions, I am very optimistic that the water leak has been permanently solved. Additionally, the overall foundation enhancements will be a positive when the house is sold some time in the future.

Overall, an impressive effort by Mr. Nathan Sally and his crew.

We are very happy with the renovation of our garage floor and the rebuilding of the garage foundation by Ottawa Building and Foundation Repair Inc. Nathan Sally and his crew were professional and dedicated to doing their very best, in spite of the blistering hot July weather. The work progressed daily and was finished on time and on budget, even though the actual job did increase due to unforeseen foundation issues. Without hesitation, we highly recommend Nathan Sally and his team for all your renovation jobs.

Nathan gave us an excellent estimate breaking down each component. Although the work took a few days longer then originally estimated the price remained the same. The finished product looks great. I would definitely hire this company again.

We had Nathan and his guys come out and repair a crack in the spring of 2013. We thought very highly of their customer service and their work but the crack continued to be a problem (Water continued to trickle into our basement). They came out the next spring thaw to fix it for free but again the fix did not take. Finally this spring they came out and did the whole thing over again from scratch and it appears to have worked. Even though we had to have them come back twice I would still recommend them to anyone else and would hire them again.

I have used Ottawa Building & Foundation Repair for snow removal services for many years. I found their services extremely reliable and quick. The service is paid for on monthly installments. They would start the season promptly and continue until there were no more snowfalls in the spring. We were always informed by emails on when to expect them and how often they would come on heavy snow days. At times, when I called them back after the city snowplow had come and covered my entrance, they would come and clear it again without any problems. I recommend them to anyone who wanted a good and reliable snow removal service...

When my basement had a crack and water started to leak, I called number companies to give me an estimate of the cost of repair. Nathan provide a prompt response and showed up on time. He gave a good estimate of the cost of repair and an explanation of what need to be done. A detail quote was sent to me through email as promised. The repair work was done and the repair work has fixed the problem.
