Carpentry At Its Best

We were absolutely thrilled with the work Niall and his team performed on our upstairs bathroom in our older semi-detached home in midtown Toronto. The bathroom was small, poorly laid out, and out-dated when we first approached a variety of contractors for quotes regarding a renovation (see "before" photos). Niall promptly made an on-site visit and gave us an honest and informed opinion on what work he thought needed to be done. Niall's quote stood out from the others as he identified a number of potential issues with our original plan and we ended up hiring him for the job. We are so glad we did. They completed the work promptly, professionally, and with a degree of care that was unparalleled. This included dealing with a variety of "surprises" that were found (as is common in older homes). Despite these, the project stayed on budget. Niall communicated frequently and when necessary. I felt complete trust in him and the team. We could not recommend Niall and his team (Billy, Steve, and Andrew) more. Absolute wonderful guys and consummate professionals. 10/10.

Niall & his team did a phenomenal job helping us transform our bedroom from its outdated state to a new space. After the initial reach out, he came quickly to do a walkthrough and figure out what could be achieved and followed up soon after with a quote. He was helpful in outlining our options and providing advice and ideas we hadn't thought of.
We needed drywalling, trim, pot lights, a window bench and closets installed. Partway through, we also discovered a new floor was needed and Niall lined up his contacts to manage the installation. He helped us figure out how to best use the space from a stairway bulkhead to maximize closet space.
Niall and his team were professional and polite, they kept the space clean and worked to contain as much of the dust as possible! They did quality work and kept to their timeline. We were very pleased with the end result and would certainly recommend Niall's team to others!

I have a rescue German Shepherd who has a pathological fear of everything - and she shows her fear not only by barking at absolutely everything but by jumping up and down - and unfortunately on the large front window sill - totally destroying the sill and the surrounding wood trim. I was not sure if it was even repairable and along came Niall. He knew it could be done but also made sure i knew what might or might not be possible as it was very damaged and in an existing window. He was responsive, professional and was able to give me great options on timing of the replacement and at a reasonable price. Niall had done some quality exterior carpentry for me a year ago. So when the opportunity arose to do some interior work, he was the first carpenter I contacted.

He quickly provided a quote for several options and budgets and clearly explained the work he would be doing.

The work itself was done quickly and efficiently. The level of detail on the new trim and doors that he provided is fantastic.

Niall also made sure to child proof the doors and locks which we appreciated. He simply took the time to do this without asking.

He also saved me from making a few bad design decisions, such as mixing different materials and styles of hardware.

The end result is clean, professional and a significant upgrade to the value of the house.

Our strangely configured little basement had been unused since we purchased our home 10 years ago. We decided we needed to clean it up and make it functional. I did the demo and set out to find a contractor to put it together. Niall was the only contractor who asked what our budget was and then opened up the conversation to what could be accomplished within that budget.

The work included framing, insulation of walls and ceiling, all new electrical, installing pot-lights, drywall, trim work and flooring installation. Additional work included relocating our water heater to the furnace room and building of two closets, one under the stairs and converting a cold room into a closet.

Niall, Billy and Steve were a pleasure to deal with. Smart, talented, punctual and personable. We are extremely pleased with the results and look forward to our next project with them.

We recently bought a home in Unionville with a beautiful and large basement, with a very dated bar and a non-functioning fireplace. We weren’t entirely sure how to make it work for us, but knew we needed warmth and a clean finish.

Quoting process
We contacted several places . Most didn’t return calls, or bail on the time we had set. Niall showed up quickly, did a quote and was very transparent around what to expect and who was accountable for what piece in the quote. (ie: we provided the fireplace, the fridge and sink). They made excellent proposals (that we had not yet considered) and we ended up going with them and made suggestions on how to best prepare the site to minimize dust

Start
The project started on time (in fact a few days earlier) and started with taping their main entry/traffic on our main floor with a thick barrier that I was able to both vacuum and Swiffer for the duration of the project. The demo was done in less then a day with very little dust and mess indoors.

Staff
Super friendly crew, very respectful of our privacy, our home and kiddies. They showed up when they said they would and after they started, they didn’t halt or pause until the job was finished (ie: no juggling of others/delays in ours).

Quality of work
All of them were clearly experienced carpenters and they made sure to make every effort to minimize cost and maximise our result. The bar has a beautiful 2 level quartz countertop and looks amazing.
When they finished the job (mudding/sanding) they vacuumed and moped the floors before leaving.

I’d highly recommend Niall and his crew to anyone looking for a beautiful project that requires experienced carpenters. They didn’t cut any corners and allowed us to fully enjoy our basement.

Home Renovation is always stressful and very challenging. Luckily, Niall, Billy and his professional team of top of the line licensed electricians, plumbers, carpenters, HVAC installers took charge of the project and consistently demonstrated quality of craftsmanship and attention to every detail no matter how minimal they were from start to finish. Niall took care of our needs( from family members here and abroad), worked with the architect’s drawings and city inspector and exceeded safety and quality expectations from contract standards and specifications and managed to stay as much as possible within the budget. This massive project consisted of demolition,reconstruction, electrical, structural, flooring, painting was efficiently kept to a strict timeline. Thank you Niall, Billy and your incredible team. The end product of course speaks for itself.

Niall and his team were hired to help us renovate our old, half-finished basement. The scope of work included framing, drywall, insulation of walls and ceiling, building closets under the stairs for storage, tiling of laundry area and trim work.
