Inground Pool and Deck

Pool Concerns.

Hello Mike & Gary

I didn’t mind if the pool took longer, I just didn’t like being misled.

I asked which parts of the implementation were up to me and I was told permit, electrical hook-up and gas connections.

They completed a site survey prior and looked at the neighbour's lawn. (yet they pulled out their sprinkler system with the bobcat?)

They told the neighbour that they would pull the posts and stuff the hold so dirt didn't get in and that they would put up a temp fence so that kids couldn't get into their pool)

They said the fence would only be down for one day. (Yet neighbours pool was open for a full day and the fence was down for 2 weeks)

3 days prior to pool start date I was told we needed an electrical inspection by Newmarket Hydro as well as any other locates which caused me to scramble

July 09 2010
Retaining wall started

July 10 2010
Retaining wall completed
Paid extra to have it done as start date for the pool was supposed to be the 11th

July 11 2010
No one arrived today.
Pool was supposed to start bug no one showed up. They told me to take down the fence on the 10th but if I had the neighbours pool would have been exposed. I'm glad I didn't.

No on arrived today.
Pool was supposed to start but no one showed up. I called the night before to confirm ad they told me to take down the fence on the 11th but if I had the neighbours pool would have been exposed. I'm glad I didn't. I wish I didn’t pay extra to have the retaining wall done faster

July 13 2010
They dug the pool hole.
Pool was supposed to start at 8 am.
They told me to take down the fence by 8 am but I didn't because I was concerned that they wouldn't show up again. I waited around for a couple of hours but I had to leave for work.

Therefore I left the sawsall down so they could take down the fence which they did however they simply pushed the 4x4 posts over rather than pulling them out which caused me a bunch of extra time and material.

They also drive the backhoe onto my neighbours sprinkler and pulled it out of the ground.

They repeatedly drove over 2 more sprinkle heads on the neighbours front lawn.

I had to ask to have a temp fence put up even though this was clearly explained during the site surveys and relayed to my neighbour. Mike informed me that they had never done it before but that they would do it this time.

They left it open for over 3 hours until they returned with a fence which was poorly installed and a kid could have Fallen into my neighbours exposed pool.

July 14 2010
No one arrived today.
They were supposed to be working in the pool but nobody showed up. I called and they told me not to worry. I explained the damages and they referred a handy man.

I had a couple of companies quote. Repairing the damages and they all asked why the company wouldn't have pulled the posts versus pushing them over? I didn't have an answer.

I did however ask if I should repair and replace the fence. They said yes.

July 15 2010
Two guys showed up for a couple of hours and assembled the metal portion of the pool.

I had the repairs scheduled for the fence but I wanted to confirm that it was ok for me to put it back as it still seemed Luke that had a lot of backfill to put in and it seemed that they would need a bobcat again. Left message with Gary and sent them both an email without any reply.

June 16 2010
No on arrived again
I called to confirm the replacement of the fence and this time they said they need it down until Tuesday.

My major concerns to date are the fact that I have been given dates which affect my schedule and yet people don't show up. I don't care if it takes an extra day because of rain however I don't like being told one thing during the sales process and receive completely different service.

Secondly we told my neighbour that their fence would be down for a day.
You Now say it needs to be down until Tuesday which is a week. (I will wait until Tuesday) Called my contractor and rescheduled the fence / sprinkler repairs

Our dates are not being met as you are obviously working on other projects.

Our delays should have only weather related.

June 18 2010
No one showed up today

June 19 2010
They showed up and said they couldn’t really do anything (First delay that was weather permitting) couldn’t get the bobcat into the backyard.

June 20 2010
They showed up and added concrete to the side of the pool and the bottom of the pool They told me to close the fence today however I didn’t as they were not done Called my contractor and rescheduled the fence / sprinkler repairs

June 21 2010 - I give up

Overview

We bought a pool and we were promised installation dates based on weather permitting however they missed the dates and didn't show up numerous times.
They said that my neighbours fence would be carefully removed, and stuffed with something to keep the post holes from filling in, however the pushed it over with a bobcat rather than pulling the posts out as they promised. It cost me an additional $1000 to fix it versus the $200 it should have cost.

I told Mike and Gary that I didn't care if the exact date was met but I couldn't afford to wait around for them and have them not show up as I also have a job.

The pool turned out great however I wasted hours on missed dates.

The pool turned out ok however I wish I paid a little more and went with a company that showed up when they said they would. I know that they had too many projects on the go and simply tried to balance everything.

Approximate cost of services:
$35,000.00

They also just showed up today to show me how to maintain the pool however they wanted their last $3000 but I didn't have it as they dint tell me they were looking for it.
I am also waiting for the winter cover installation worth more than $3000 balance.
The pool turned out ok however I wish I paid a little more and went with a company that showed up when they said they would. I know that they had too many projects on the go and simply tried to balance everything.

They were the weakest part of the 92K backyard project
