duct cleaning

I saw their ad in kijiji. They operate with different names. One is "Cora duct cleaning" and other is "ducts cleaners".

Their ad states that they will clean all vents including j vent, sanitize and will inspect furnace, ac coils, dryer and dryer vent. They claim they have NADCA & TSSA certification also.

On 4th February, they sent 2 people who were just the hired labors. They cleaned each vent for 1-2 seconds only by using compressed air. Whole cleaning took place for 15 minutes only while they were claiming 1.5-2 hours depending on my house size. After cleaning, the labors were telling me that i need full cleaning of ducts which is done through agitators/strips and cost $450 but they were willing to do that in $100 only if i dont tell to their boss.

They didnt do j-channel cleaning, senitization and inspection of above stated appliances.

I complained them on 6th february and they said they are looking at complain and that they had received similar complaints from other homeowners. I waited for a week and started calling their 1-877-563-5661 and talked to "Sunil" who arranges team. He told me he will call back but he never called back. Then somebody blocked my number. I left several voice messages. Talked to owner "shazia" several times and "sunil" but no go.

I have decided to complain to "ministry of consumers" and "durham police" about their shady business.

Duct cleaning

I have been contacted by sales people that they have a permotion for $100 for any size house duct cleaning. So i booked and the next day they show up for the appointment we scheduled. I have to tell you we are simply survivor as result of the lack of their safty percussion for the job they do. first of all when they arrived they park their car backward where they run the those pipe from the garage to my basment. They inital work only took 20 minute as it was simply presure air to clean vant it is not duct cleaning. Secondly they convinced me that i need detail cleaning what it called brusing the duct. Anyway the whole process took one hour. The dangerous thing that this people did was for whole hour the car was running exsus of the car back ro my garahe and door was opend and the whole somoke pluse the persure air gas as well came to my house. I realized i have issue breathing and right after that i realized my carbon monoxide alarm went on. They were trying to convince me that this is normal and no dangeour. My wife immidiately called 911 and they came inspect the property for any sign of the carbon monoxide and after their complete check in house they conclude that this was as result car smoke which was running for an hour with smke exhust back from o my garage and inside my house. These people even not trained how to park the car so that smoke doesnt go inside the house. They dont even have carbon monoxide measurment with them for any sign of the alarm that they should have with them. Stay a way from this company and we are lucky we are alive.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Avoid!!! I wish I had read the reviews first! Everything is accurate to my experience. This was booked under Home Service - which apparently then is subcontracted to Toronto Breeze - that information is not provided. They assured me before and after pictures would be taken.

They refused to take pictures, show me a business card and tried to up sell me on a furnace cleaning ($275) for a brand new furnace. After 15 min. they told me there were done, and there was dust everywhere including my children's rooms. They have rendered my air conditioning not working. When I refused to pay for this horrible experience - I was creamed at. They neighbours arrived shortly after out of concern. Then a "sales manager" called and threatened me by saying I should fasten my seat belt for what he would do next. Multiple reports have been filed, including police, CRTC, and better business bureau (they are not a member). DO NOT USE!!!! I beg you - just goole them and their fines and records speak for themselves. Shocking they are allowed to operate still.

Avoid These Guys Like the Plague

I hired Toronto Breeze based on a telephone solicitation. They claimed I was a previous customer. I may have been, but I don't think so. Anyway, they did show up at the appointed hour, but their technique included blowing compressed air into the vents and ducts, with the result that a lot of dust got blown into the air. The vacuum they hooked up the furnace no doubt removed some dust, but after they were finished the air in my house was heavily laden with dust and there was lots of dust remaining in the ductwork. They also missed some ducts. I pointed this out to the technicians, but they didn't clean the untouched vents and they claimed that the dust and debris remaining in the ducts couldn't be removed with their system. They also neglected to plug several holes they had cut in the ducting.

They were in attendance for about 25 minutes, and I am wholly unsatisfied with their work. I refused to pay them and I would never recommend anybody engage this lot.

Also, Toronto Breeze operates under several different names. And . . . for what it's worth, this company has had to pay a $40,000 fine for CRTC violations involving telemarketing violations.

Be very careful of this outfit.

Duct cleaning

Charge agreed on was $120 for unlimited service. It was such a quick job and there is no way to tell how good they cleaned the ducts. It took them 35 min or so to be done. The technician made a big issue of the furnace requiring an additional service for $115 (after discount). After I agreed the increase it took him literally 10 min to complete the extra work. I called so many times to complain and every time they say a manger will call you back, which they never did. Now they hang up on me when I call. Additionally I never received the receipt for the service.

Air Duct Cleaning

Received a call this morning at 9 am on a promotion to get my air ducts clean. I as actually was in the market for this service and was happy to receive the call. May appointment was at 11:00 the techs showed up at 1:30. From duct cleaning it lead to getting my furnace cleaned and humidifier filter. They kept pushing a lifetime filter of $130. Within 20 minutes of the completion of the service my furnace started to smoke and a strange noise started. We immediately shut off everything and placed some calls on a cell number and office number of this company. With some coaxing we where promise that the techs would return. As of 8:28 pm no one has returned to assess the damage caused. No one is picking up the cell phone and the office number is full. What a big mistake going with this company!

Duct Cleaning

Marketing people are selling the service as duct cleaning but it is only vent spraying using high pressure air. Technicians were friendly but after they were finished their $150 job, I opened up the master duct as well as the return duct and both were loaded with dust and dirt chunks. They said the actual duct cleaning was $200 more. Totally ridiculous. Why do they insist on misleading the public ?

Duct cleaning

I was contacted by phone SEVERAL times and it always seemed urgent that I booked NOW always using the same line"please book us, please mam, please you must book now, right now, you cannot wait this is important, please mam, understand mam, please you must do this". I am in the middle or renovations and did want the service but was not sure when. They kept calling and calling and he insisted I finally gave up and made an appointment at that time for a month time even if I had no clue when reno's would be done. Reno’s are still not done but they would not take no for an answer. When they arrived they did introduced themselves as “duct cleaners” and were kind but just as pushy as the caller on selling me more services. I was not aware that they did not clean the furnace ducts I thought it was included in the “ducts cleaning” :(, but for another 150$ they would happily do it! I am not sure how good of a job they did to be honest, they connected a large suction hose to the furnace, squirted some compressed air into each vent dust bunnies flew EVERYWHERE and that was it. Remembering the other services like this I had in the past, all the ducts had been blocked and cleaned one at a time inside and out after the “duct cleaning” hose had dine it’s job. They said they would apply some anti-bacterial liquid and some “good smelling something” but I did not see them do it or smell either one, except for fumes from their truck during and after the service. The large suction hose was dragged through the mud in my front entrance and the mud was then dragged all over my hard wood floor the ceramic in the kitchen all over the stairs in basement stairs and hard wood floor, dust bunnies all over the place, It upsets me that no precautions were taken to protect the floor from the mud on the suction hose or for the dust from going all over furniture, walls, appliances and floors and of course they did not clean anything after! A few minutes after they left, I get a call from the same marketing guy who had begged me to take their services prior to this appointment begging me once more to get the service asking, I guess they don’t keep track of who got what, Oh yeah, they only accept cash and won’t give receipts, no wonder they can’t keep up! I said “sir your guys just left my house 10 minutes ago” and he says “oh! how was the service?”, so I began to tell him that there was mud chunks all over my floors, he rudely interrupts me as I am saying mud chunks all over the floor and he says “MAM!!! MAM!!! STOP! STOP!!! MAM!!! it is dust! it will go away when furnace turns on”, I said “NO, the major mud stains and the mud pellets all over the floors and stairs will not GO AWAY when the furnace turns on”, as I am trying to continue, again, interrupts me and says , MAM! you know nothing!, MAM STOP! Then he says rudely and I could not believe my ears “ HOW MUCH YOU PAY FOR SERVICE?” OH MY MY he insulted me once more, I then told him I could not believe his answer and again he said “you paid cheap” I said PARDON ME, 200$ for duct cleaning, who you kidding! I hung up out of frustration, continuing the conversation was not worth my saliva. I know now from reading all of the reviews, (which I should have done before saying yes) that I am not the only VERY unhappy customer and I will not get any satisfactory answers from these guys but excuses as to why they could not clean the ducts properly or even why they did not clean up the a mess upon completion of their service. To add insult to injury, the “Duct cleaners” asked me for a tip at the end of the job while I was paying and when I said to “NO! you are joking right, look at my floors and walls?” His answer was “everyone gives tips, everywhere you go, you give tip, we need tips” After seeing my face, I think he realised I was not joking! He then said Mam I am ok I am joking don’t give tips it is ok. I felt bad to be honest so I went looking around for some change out of petty, but luckily none was found. As I read in another review “There are established procedures for duct cleaning that they do not follow”. After basically being told I got what I paid for. I say I did and I could not agree more; CHEAP and HORRID service. I say as others have in their reviews “ For duct cleaning use a reputable firm and ask exactly what their procedure is. Watch what they do and make sure they do what they said they would do. Check on the web for the correct process to clean ducts and read their reviews.” Good luck in your duct cleaning!

Had Duct cleaning done, not sure how clean they left the ducts, but they were nice enough to damage the hardwood stairs with their equipment and leave a nice large oil stain in my driveway from their truck!
