After more than 10 years of service and hundreds of completed kitchens to both homeowners and private contractors, Trends Wood Finishing prides itself in the craftsman ship and quality of not only its services, but its employees. It is disappointing to get a negative review of this magnitude, and although we understand that not everyone can be pleased and there will always be customers that are unhappy with how some things turn out; we have never received a review remotely close to this one. Although we know there were some errors, delays, changes, etc with the project; to say we are "scammers", "pretenders" and "unskilled" is not only extremely disrespectful to our craft, but our employees as well, and this review does nothing to shed light into the overall situation or agreements between the homeowner and Trends Wood Finishing Inc.
First, we would like to point out, as you know, that this project was a refacing. It was not a complete renovation of your kitchen, and your existing kitchen base was unchanged aside from some additions you requested. ALL changes and kitchen designs always go through our customers for approval, so anything that was changed within the kitchen was done with your consent. To say our designs were "poor" is untrue in this case. Especially so when nothing new was designed, since the kitchen was already in place and our team only refaced it.
Second, we would like to acknowledge that, as any business, we make mistakes. We had delays and smaller issues which we assessed and resolved to the best of our abilities. We had already apologized for this, offered you an initial percentage discount off the estimate given, and more for the inconvenience faced throughout the length of the project. We had the best intentions in making sure you were satisfied with the completed project at the end.
Third, and finally, Trends Wood Finishing DID in fact completed the kitchen. Aside from any small grievances you may have found after installation, everything was completed and installed according to our initial agreement. For everything else Trends and the homeowner could not reconcile on, our company allowed you to keep the remaining balance of your outstanding bill (that was 50% of the estimated price of the project) EVEN after the kitchen was COMPLETED and INSTALLED. To call us "scammers" is not only unjustified, but absolutely in the wrong.
It is a shame that we could not fully reconcile and come to a mutual agreement in order to finish the minor details you mentioned after installation. We would have happily finished, had you not cut communication with us after agreeing to keep half of the remaining balance and refuse to sign our completion paperwork. It is unfortunate and disappointing that things had to escalate to this point, that a review like this was made against us, and that the truth of the situation was not explain completely. We know we cant please everybody, we always do our best and try to please our customers to the best of our abilities; our ratings, references and testimonials can attest to this. However, no matter what you do at times, even after discounts and refunds, you cant mend situations.
