I found this company via google, submitted a quote request online, and got a prompt call back from Mike Long. We arranged for a time for Mike to come by to look at our house and quote on the instalation of a secondairy ductless AC unit.
Mike arrived right on time, was very knowledgable and polite, quoted the job (including a cleaning of our existing main AC unit in the quote), and left us to think about it. We called him the next day and said we'd like to proceed. He scheduled his install, who also arrived right on time and were polite and knowledgable. We paid them via cheque, they left and all was well.
However, ever since then, I've been trying to schedule the our AC cleaning that Mike promised us. Mike did make one appointment for cleaning, but his technicians didn't show up.
Since then, it seems no one answers the phone at this company. I have Mike's cell, plus three phone numbers (East, West and Central) for Dr. Comfort. I've called them many times over the past two weeks and no one ever answers - I'm beginning to wonder if I'm being screened out.
What worries me is that if I need to make a warranty claim, who will I call?
I was going to leave these guys a 10/10 review until they stopped answering their phones. A bit fishy...
Administratoin is terrible. We have been leaving messages requesting service and information for weeks. Service manager has given us his personal cell, and still no response or followup. Air conditioner had been malfunctioning all summer, and is not completely non-functional. This same story has recurred for several summers. NOTE: Actual service people, when they arrive have been professional and excellent. The problem is getting service scheduled.
(I will be happy to retract this review, if someone responds to our call and arranges service on our unit).
Air conditioning is vital when you are doing anything physical in you home, you sweat and its gross unless you can get the temperature down. I have a small dance studio (I know its amazing) where I teach small girls the finer points of ballet. I just love it, but it was getting very hot in there and the central air was not cutting it anymore. So subsequent to complaining about my life to a few parents they one recommended a type of air conditioner called "ductless" that only cools the zone that you put it in. Its super quiet so it does not interfere with the music or my lessons and most of all I do not have sweat beading on my forehead after 5 minutes in there. I am doing this recommendation for Dr Comfort and Joe the salesman there because of how neat and tidy everything went, not something I am used too in my life if you know what I mean. I bought a samsung neo forte(?) and it looks beautiful on the wall and I chose 6 months no payments financing. Very happy !
I worked in HVAC for a few years as an apprentice so I know the industry a little bit. The guys I talked to here are straight shooters and arent looking to sell you everything in the warehouse when they meet you. I asked my guy Kal if I should change out the air while I was doing my furnace and humidifier last month and he said that I would not see a good return on investment seeing as my old unit is still 13 SEER. We did some quick math and found that I would take almost 12 years to get my money back with a nwe 15 SEER. By then I would need a NEW UNIT AGAIN. Very nice, I would have switched it out unless he brought that up. I thought high efficiency meant I would be saving more quickly than that. Classy move, now they have a customer for life and I have already referred family to Kal. Happy to review you guys too.
I had an atrocious experience with these guys. The Manager Mike has taken my money and told me not to call back despite the fact that the A/C unit he has installed stopped working (blown compressor) after 1 week and it is still under warranty (5 years on the compressor).
My husband and I have a new baby and new house for us but we had no AirCon which we are used to having in our old Condo. Neither of us have had radiators before so we werent exactly sure on how to cool the house without ductwork. Our nieghbours answered our question by telling us about "ductless" AC of which they had two, one for upstairs and one in the kitchen as well. We called the company that did the install work for them a few summers ago and Matt came out for a sales appointment on the weekend. We had one other quote from another company but we liked what Matt had to say and his ability to answer all of our questions during his presentation. After checking the BBB Dr. Comfort has an A rating and no complaints so I decided to give Matt the job. We decided on Fujitsu because of the 10 year warranty and that Matt said the install team likes working with them and would do a very neat job in our upper landing and closets. The job went very well and the indoor AC does not look as bad as I thought it would on the wall but at least we have cold air ready now! Matt was there to introduce me to the crew in the morning and checked back on the job once later to see if the drain hose was run to the side garden like we had asked for, I thought that was a nice touch. We paid by credit card so I didnt have to go to the bank over and over like I had to do for the painters. Matt asked if we were willing to write a review for the company if we were happy with the service and we were so .... I do recommend this company.
