Inspection of new lake home

Absolutely terrible home inspection. Two inspectors on site including owner of the buisness, mentioned he does not inspect homes his associate does. Once the report was produced full of grammer and typing errors. The inpection missed several major deficiencies including; loose eves, leaking roof, loose sewer plumbing, ............. Very poor service, highly not recommended!!!!

Home Inspection - Very satisfied

Our friend referred us to go with Cabin to Castle. Two of their certified inspectors come out to inspect our my new home before its 1 year warranty was up. The 2 home inspectors took approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours inspecting minute details in and around the house. Their detailed report summarized technicalities that made it easy for us to explain to the builder what needed to be fixed.
Since it was our 11th month on warranty, the builder hesitated to accept some the items identified as defects. Since we were not satisfied by the builders response, we contacted Cabin to Castle again. Their owner John came out and performed a thorough second look and confirmed the defects. He went above and beyond by suggesting to contact new home warranty inspectors himself and assisting with any mitigations in future.
I am very satisfied by the overall service and the peace of mind Cabin and Castle brought for us. I think they not only believe in providing professional service but also look at fostering a strong and positive relationship with their clients. I would happily refer anybody to Cabin and Castle based on our experience.

home inspection

We were extremely disappointed in this home inspection. They missed a major defect on our roof. They told us that we needed a bit of repair, a small section. It turned out that there was a major leak by our chimney. Leaked through the main floor closet, behind the wall and into our basement ceiling. Caused a section of our basement ceiling to collapse. When we had our roof completely redone for about $10,000, we were told there was no way an inspection should have missed that. And there is no accountability for home inspectors, no recourse when they do miss major issues.

home inspection

I was very pleased with the professionalism of this home inspection company. I like the fact that they have 2 inspectors during your home inspection for the price of one. Also it speeds up the process too.

Home Inspection

I would recommend Cabin to Castle to anyone buying a new home. They sent 2 inspectors to the inspection and both guys seemed knowledgeable and friendly. It has been 6 months since moving into our new home and so far we have had no surprises. The inspector who did the basement spent about half an hour after the inspection was complete going over everything and showing us exactly what they were talking about. I also liked that the report was on the computer rather than a pile of papers that I know I would eventually lose.

Home inspection

Inspectors left the dials on our stove on HIGH and left. When we plugged in our stove things on stove burnt (just moved in and we were a little unorganized). Company didnt take responsibility for not turning off the dials just laughed at us for having stuff on stove and not checking dials. Never again Cabin to Castle. Thumbs down for this attitude, i would never recommend them.

home inspection

I am not at all happy with our incomplete home inspection. It was 3 years ago which is unfortunately over the statute of limitations on home inspections. I would sue if I could. We have a crawlspace with water issues. The inspector spent no time in the crawlspace. He peeked in and said he didn't see any water damage and what did I know? He did not even enter the crawlspace. He also missed an illegal and dangerous electrical connection to our shed. It has been a very wet spring our third year here. We noticed water getting into the crawlspace, had someone have a look. He said there is no way the home inspector should have missed it. I would not recommend this company.

That being said, I believe they now have 2 inspectors working together which likely lessens incompetencies. The best advice I can give is to take charge of your home inspection. Insist on thourough inspection and have your own checklist. Do your research. Research home inspection checklists on the web and be prepared when you meet your inspector. This is your future home! Take charge and be prepared.
