Dishwasher Repair

Called Sears in after another company failed to repair our dishwasher. The technician was on time and corrected the problem. He also gave us some tips on maintenance for our dishwasher.

Dishwasher Repair

I had to book two appointments to fix my dishwasher. The first appointment was for diagnostic and quote. The second appointment was for the actual repair. Both times I scheduled for the 5-8pm time slot. Both times they call the night before to confirm for 10-2pm. Both times I tell them I work in the day time and cannot be available for day time. Both times I had to reschedule. If you value your time, do not use Sears

I appreciate that Phill must be frustrated by his experience with his dishwasher repair. Though this thread is for Heating and Cooling issues, and experiences I would like to help him get in touch with the appropriate complaint channel for his and other peoples issues of all stripes.

Sears' Corporate Customer Service Phone Number is 1-800-664-1888. When you talk to someone, give them your phone number, they track everything by phone number and make notes in the system based upon that.

P.S. this number can also be used to express gratitude if anyone was of particular assistance. Just saying.

Duct cleaning

Thought it would be a good idea to get the ducts cleaned by a reputable company, WRONG!

Got the ducts cleaned well but they knocked my vent loose to my master bedroom and now I have a dead vent with no heating/cooling coming out of it making my thermal comfort very bad. Not impressed

Dishwasher Repair

It has taken 2 months from our first service call. The first guy came in and things seemed ok. Charged me $80 to show up and diagnose and order parts for the next guy. Problem is, it took over a month to get the next guy in... two guys showed up without the parts. The fourth guy finally figured out he could make the repair without any parts and he did so for a reasonable price. Which means, the first guy should have done the same and saved me 2 months and all that hassle. Additionally, their call centre/dispatch service was brutal... numerous last minute cancellations and no-shows. These guys are a mess... I feel bad because they have good people working for them, but they have some fundamental problems. Stay away!

Dishwasher Replacement

Our Bosch dishwasher broke after 11 years of service. We went to the Sears in the Erin Mills Town Centre to look for a replacement. Being an evening weekday we got prompt service. The price was reasonable and the sales person sold us on the 5 year maintenance plan telling us we could use it towards a purchase if we did not call for service. However, when I read the fine print at home, it turns out I have to purchase two times the amount of merchandise to get the rebate and it cannot be electronics.

The installation was not a good experience. The two guys who came did not seem to get along well and one of them had bad personal hygiene. They came ready to sell me flexible hot water hose and insisted I use it over the existing copper piping. I spent an hour cleaning up after they left. They also did not come with the requisite materials, asking for stuff like old towels, paper towels, etc.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Be more transparent about pricing and use installers with a better work ethic.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Make sure they confirm that there will no additional charges beyond what you pay to install. Read the fine print on the extended warranty.

So sorry you had a bad experience. For every one of these there are innumerable good ones, but we generally don't take the time to put fingers to keys if everything is good.

Anyone reading this should take note of the following phone number. 1(800) 664-1888.
It is the direct Corporate Customer Service line…a back door if you will. Give them your name and phone number (Everything is tracked by phone number at Sears) and tell them you are seeking compensation, and you would like them to start a file on the claim.
