After my drop-off, I had a few issues but customer service did address all my concerns, with most large companies my concerns would have fell on deaf ears, so for that alone I recommend Uhaul.
Uhaul's best price policy really does work in your behalf, if the rep didn't change my initial contract to a more positive contract, I would have paid a great deal more $$

I was charged $65 for returning the truck at 1/8 of a tank instead of 1/4 of a tank which is completely false. I only used the truck for 13.8 miles and filled it up before return exactly how I took it. After several calls and emails, they are still not returning my money although I sent them picture as a proof. I will never use these guys again.

Horrible experience. I rented a 20' truck 3 weeks in advance of the moving day. The location and times were confirmed. Then I entered in a loop of changes and updates to my reservation. So far it has been changed 4 times. Still haven't got confirmation that I will have a truck to move. I have spent enlessles hours tracking emails, speaking with people and being transferred from person to person. I decided to file a claim after the 3rd change to my confirmed reservation. Haven't heard back from Management yet. They overbook their trucks and just keep playing with people's time, health and pacient. HORRIBLE

Awful service for such a reputable organization.

My bad experience started with their website.
First off, There is no option to sort by available trucks in your location on the map. I have to choose which truck I need, then see if it's available in the chosen city if not it will show me the availability on the other shops but only within the same city. In Toronto for ex. North York borders Markham and Scarborough. I had to manually tried all these cities for the availability of trucks. I spent good couple hours on this. Please look into your website navigation. For such company as U-Haul it is really poor website.

Secondly, after I booked a truck in 3022 Novar Rd, Mississauga, ON, L5B1S4 but in the morning I got confirmation that my truck will be waiting for me at 2700 Royal Windsor Dr, Mississauga, ON, L5J1K7. I called the customer support service, spent on the phone another 30 minutes (!!) waiting for somebody to pick up the phone, meanwhile texted a representative in chat who told me that she cannot help me with my problem. After 30 minutes a woman finally picked up and said that at the location that I chose there is no 15' trucks that I want (even tho I needed 10' truck but they not available at all) and the website just chose the closest office with the available truck to that address I selected before. I have 2 questions - 1. Why your website does not have the LATEST information about the trucks availability and their location? 2. Why your WEBSITE chose a location FOR ME? This is ADDITIONAL 26 km that I HAD TO PAY for. When I spoke to a customer service, the woman couldn't even help me to find another location with 10' truck! So useless!!! Why do you even have this customer service???
Anyways, I didnt have other choice but went to that location at Royal Windsor Dr. The representative was very positive and helpful. But...

Thirdly, he told me that the truck I need was taken. How? Is there any connection between the website and your field offices at all??? Why is this happening to me at all and AGAIN? This is well established US company.. So frustrating! Anyways, the respresentative said that he has one larger truck left (20' truck) but I will need to return it same night as it was booked for the next day. This truck is also 20$ more expensive that the one I needed. He explained me everything about the truck and about gas payment.
When i was done moving, on my way back I stopped at a gas station to fill in the gas. It was 2 blocks away from the office. Left the truck, everything seemed to be fine.

Lastly, just now received a receipt where I was charged additional 30$ for gas. Its a joke! I made sure the gas was at the same level as when I received the truck. 2 blocks could not make that big of a difference on gas.

The whole situation is super frustrating. I spent extra 70$ and 3 hours more than planned. I guess I'm lucky I'm not poor..

I hope this feedback will help people to make their decision on whether to use the company and what to expect from them. Be ready to pay extra and spend more time with this company.

We used Uhaul for moving from my home in Markham to downtown Toronto. They were wonderful at accommodating us with the size truck we needed (in fact when we called they didn't have the size we needed but gladly upgraded us to the next available). It was great to be able to pick up the uhaul truck at one location and drop it off at another so to avoid driving all the way back into Markham after a long days move. They have boxes and dollys to help you move as well (at a cost) and the truck was perfect for our move, having more space then the others we looked at and easy to load and unload.

I reserved a uHal 20' truck for June 23rd online on their Uhaul website. Within a few moments, I received a confirmation by phone. While the location (Universal Auto Techs) did not have the larger truck, the 20' was large enough for the majority of our furniture to be moved in one trip. When we arrived on the 23rd, the staff was professional and prompt in going through the papers and getting upon our way. Unfortunately,in our haste we took the wrong truck originally (the keys seem to work in more than one truck), but they were very apologetic and we were not billed extra. in fact, the cost for the one trip, including gas, was less than $100.00, thus resulting in potential savings of several hundred if a moving company was used. I strongly recommend Universal Auto Techs/Uhaul, and would give 10 if Universal was easier to contact by phone. If they have wireless headsets this may resolve the issue.

Extremely poor customer service. 14 foot truck booked 30+ days in advance. 3 days prior, pickup location changed by U-Haul from Bathurst & Dupont at 9am to Scarborough at 3:30pm. Ended up getting back to a 9am pick-up but still from Scarborough. Very tough to access via TTC and truck was given away when we arrived to pick it up, even though the U-haul employee assured me it would be waiting if we weren't able to pick it up at 9am given the travel distance to pick it up. A pick-up truck was given in place, which led to many back and forth trips, missed elevator times (we planned to do it all in one load, but couldn't as a result of the limited room in the pick-up). Called and emailed customer service numerous times. The file was closed without anything being addressed by the company, and when we pushed back a $30 credit was applied.

$30 didn't come close to making right the lack of customer service we received.

Strongly recommend NOT using U-Haul.

Great location downtown. Very kind, helpful service. Great pricing, very cost effective. They also have helpful aids at the location (mattress covers, boxes, etc) and they also have storage space for rent as well. Would definitely recommend this location!
