I read other people’s review and decided to use Gecko to build my garage. Derrick responded to my email right away and gave me a rough quote and a lot of great advice. We signed the contract that weekend and the contract start date is Oct 20. Derrick’s crew started the preparation job way before the contract starts and finished it even before the contract start date.
Derrick did fantastic job to keep me updated. He took care of everything for me even some stuff I didn’t mentioned like clean my backyard and newly build garage after they finish everything. The garage is fantastic. If you need a professional builder to build your garage, Gecko is your best choice.
Derrick, if in the future you change your mind and decide to do some home renovation, please drops me an email. I definitely will give my entire home renovation job to you

I had Derrick and Gecko Projects build me a 24x24 insulated, drywalled and heated garage this summer. He went over all my questions at first and also was the only person I found who would estimate prices for me online. He gave me options with different prices so I could choose what was best for me. His crew had the structure up in two days, and the whole thing (even drywall, finishing and furnace) was done ahead of schedule. I would recommend Derrick and Gecko Projects for any garage project 100%!

I was looking to get a garage built, contacted 5 different companies, Derrick from Gecko was the only one that could answer all my questions without an issue and didn't tack on a bunch of strange costs. He wasn't the cheapest but i do believe you get what you pay for.

Starting from the Quote all the way to the start of the build and completion of the structure his communication, quality and speed was excellent.

I had extra requests put into the build for some future customization that i plan on doing and Derrick was highly accommodating and extremely helpful in getting this job completed.

I'm glad i went with Gecko after watching his competitors working on garages around my neighborhood since i am in a new build area, these guys produced the best work out of all of them and completed the structure and all the inspections before any of my neighbors even got their garages completed even tho the competitors had started working before my materials were even delivered.

Gecko Projects built me a 24 X 24 garage to my specifications in a well built and timely manner. I would highly recommend Gecko Projects. Derrick Potter is one of the most professional, flexible, friendly and dedicated contractors I have met in 40 years of having to deal with contractors in my profession. He is simply a great young man to deal with. You cannot go wrong in engaging Gecko Projects for your own garage project.

I did my homework on contractors and Derrick/Gecko beat the majority of their competitors on price, and were a pleasure to deal with the entire way through the construction process. We had a difficult yard slope to deal with but Derrick stepped up and honoured his quote despite his costs going up to account for building the foundation properly. Construction was slower than expected due to the additional concrete work but Derrick kept up great communication throughout.

The changes I requested during construction were accurately priced and he was able to complete those extras within the revised time frame. He even did me a huge favour by leaving me some additional left over material so I could match my kid's play house siding/shingles to the new garage! I highly recommend using Gecko if you're looking for a decent contractor. His own forces crews are super fast (2 days to erect, shingle, and side my garage) and his concrete sub-contractor was square to within 1/8" on a 26' deep garage. That's a level of craftsmanship and professionalism not often seen in many builders. My only downside is he doesn't do basement renos, leaving me to go find someone else when I'd rather hire him again for that future work.

After getting a few quotes and meeting with some companies, I decided to have Gecko build a 20x22 garage on a rental property in Calgary. I was not disappointed as owner Derrick was great to work with right from the quote stage through to completion. His communication was really excellent, as the tenant and I were both kept up to date on the process.

As the weather was cooperative, the concrete pour date was moved up and project completion, including City inspections, took place within 4-1/2 weeks. This was 3 weeks ahead of the contracted date.

I would not hesitate to recommend Derrick and Gecko Projects if you are in need of a garage AND you want peace of mind!

Derrick was fantastic to work with on this project. I'm a bit of a car guy and I was somewhat specific as to what I wanted. Derrick is a true professional and a master at what he does, always gets back to you promptly with answers to any questions, always followed through on his commitments to me and was always on schedule. His costing was absolutely fair and actually slightly less than competitive quotes I received. The garage he built for me is fantastic, triple wide, heated, insulated and looks awesome. A pleasure to do business with you.

We saw how great the reviews were for this company, so despite the fact that they were a little bit more expensive, we decided to use them, and we are SO thankful we did. Derrick Potter was fantastic at responding to our calls and e-mails right away, and he always kept us in the loop as to what was going on or what we could expect. He gave us timelines for when each part would be completed and he stuck to every timeline, our garage was built very quickly and the quality is fantastic, we have no complaints. Overall great experience, I would definitely recommend Gecko Projects Ltd.

Having a recent bad experience with one of local companies, it took a careful consideration hiring Gecko Projects team to work on the garage. And I must say that I am pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Derrick, just like many point out, is a friendly professional - very easy to deal with and he does go above and beyond.
Initially my garage was scheduled to start around August 28 of 2015, but for some reasons my project was moved ahead of its schedule and first week of July I'm already parking in the garage.
The first thing that stands out is the quality of work - nothing is out of line and the structure looks professional.
Derrick will definitely listen to the wishes, but still recommends to do some things certain way and explains the reasons behind it.
The pad was poured about a month before the start date, and since that was already done - it took about 3-4 days of work to complete everything including roof and siding - impressive.

Once the job was done, the site was left clean.

The City's Inspection was also completed without any issues.

Overall I'm very pleased with the job done and it was worth every penny spent.

At any time when you hire a contractor to perform construction at your home, you start to think how stressful this will be. I have to say that Derrick and the Gecko team were the first contractors that I worked with where I had no stress or worries throughout the whole project. They have a clearly defined process for construction jobs from start to finish. They define the requirements with you, come in and perform the work to requirements in a timely manner, clean up when they leave, and leave your property in a better state than when they first came on site. We are very impressed with Gecko's professionalism and workmanship - which is nothing short of exceptional.
