Select Sunrooms

This company should have a negative rating. We signed a contract for a 3-season room and a deck extension on April 1, 2021, but due to issues manufacturing the material it was not started until May 20, 2022. Fred sent his sub-contractor which spent about 10 hours erecting some of the sunroom and part of the deck extension. They did not use flashing anywhere, no silicone, nothing is plumb, no ledger to support the roof, and the deck slopes towards the sunroom so rain pours into the sunroom. Everything leaks everywhere and the 20-year warranty is nullified because the roof was not properly installed. He even had the gall to try and get the last installment claiming the job was completed. We have paid $20k for this and Fred will not return emails or respond to voicemails. Since then, we discovered he did not have a permit to be onsite to do the work nor does he have an active prepaid contractor license from Service Alberta. Now we have retained a lawyer and are looking for another contractor to fix his mess.

Select Windows and Doors in Calgary built a beautiful overhang window for my house. They have some great designers and were good to deal with. You can see their work at www.selectwindows.ca I would highly recommend these guys. They also installed a Victorian style double entrance door for me and it looks beautiful.
