Angelo and his team were very efficient and cost-effective, and the results were terrific. They replaced the old patio paver walkway, and installed natural quarry stone front steps and flagstone on the front porch. Angelo provided a quote in a timely fashion, and his quote matched the work completed and invoiced amount. I would highly recommend All-Pro Landscaping.

Company Response: Thank you, Nick, for taking the time to review our work for you last August. Cladding a builders plain concrete front porch and door threshold with beautiful square-cut flagstone certainly “makes a dramatic entrance” for any home. But the dark-toned flagstone (chosen to match your dark grey double front doors) really “pops” against the neutral grey tone of the steps and walkway pavers. And the two driveway borders, also constructed with interlock pavers, draw the design out to the street for maximum curb appeal. I appreciate your comments about my quoting process. And, perhaps, for the benefit of HomeStars readers, I should take a moment to elaborate on this. I invest hours of work in a typical quotation. This ensures that homeowners understand exactly what they would be getting. Starting with a hand-rendered scale drawing of the proposed project design footprint for my own use, I can then calculate accurate pricing. Rather than providing homeowners with a simple estimate for the entire project, I go the extra mile by presenting a detailed, typed (usually multi-page) "Contract Specification Sheet" that breaks the entire project into individual components—each one defined by price, material specifications and dimensions. It also includes warranty, HST, payment terms and approximate start date range. Ultimately, this same document becomes the signed client contract. In some cases, of course, some refinements to material selection and design occur before the document is signed by both the client and me. FOUNDED IN 1985 BY NICOLA TERSIGNI AND 21-YEAR-OLD SON ANGELO, ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry Ltd. specializes in working with clients to enhance the beauty and functionality of the landscape elements that complement and add to the enjoyment of their homes.

A FEW NOTES ABOUT QUOTATIONS . . .
Angelo personally handles quoting and sales. Hours of work are invested in a typical quotation. Rather than providing homeowners with a bulk dollar amount for the entire project, Angelo goes the extra mile by presenting a detailed, typed "contract specification sheet" that breaks the entire project into individual components that specify the materials/dimensions and pricing per component. The quote also specifies applicable warranty, HST and payment terms. Ultimately, for homeowners who choose to entrust their project to ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry, this quotation document evolves into the signed client contract, usually after a number of refinements to align more closely with the client's aesthetic and budget.
> At times during the season, Angelo may temporarily suspend quoting so that he can focus exclusively on current projects and on quotations already in hand.
In this scenario, our office manager invites homeowners to circle back to us at a later date if they are unable to find another contractor with whom they wish to proceed. She also compiles a waiting list of those homeowners who wish to meet with Angelo when he begins quoting again.

IS ALL-PRO LANDSCAPING A GOOD FIT FOR YOUR PROJECT?
During the peak spring/summer period, we receive approximately 20 to 30 quotation requests PER WEEK, sometimes more.
Many of these we need to decline for a variety of reasons. For example, the project site is outside our core service area, or our schedule is already booked during the homeowners’ desired completion timeframe, or the project is not the kind of work we do.
When non-client homeowners reach out to ALL-PRO Landscaping to request a quotation, we are very grateful. We also respect their time and want to ensure that we are a good fit for their projects. So our office manager will ask a few questions before including their information on Angelo’s quotation request call-back spreadsheet . . .

Q1. WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Each year, we must decline many quotation requests from homeowners located outside our service area.
Please refer to the “CORE SERVICE AREA” note, above.

Q2. DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT COMPLETION DEADLINE THAT YOU NEED TO MEET?
Some homeowners are working towards a particular project completion deadline such as the date of a backyard wedding or the arrival of visitors from overseas.
> This is important for us to know up front, because the homeowner's desired time frame may no longer be available on our schedule.

Q3. HOW MANY QUOTATIONS ARE YOU OBTAINING?
Conventional wisdom usually concurs that obtaining two or three quotations is prudent for homeowners who do not yet have an established relationship with a trusted contractor.
We respectfully decline to meet with homeowners who are obtaining more than three quotations.

Q4. WHAT KIND OF WORK WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE DONE?
We focus on "HARDSCAPE" construction projects, such as:
=> patios, walkways, steps, porches, garden walls, retaining walls, driveway borders/driveways constructed with precast concrete products and natural stone products.
=> decks constructed with pressure-treated, cedar and composite decking products.
For hardscape projects, we can also incorporate the following:
=> sod, mulch, triplemix, riverstone, ornamental rockery.
=> synthetic grass (usually Rymar Durablade 95 S-Shaped Synthetic Grass).
=> fence and gate structures, constructed with with cedar, pressure-treated or composite materials, as well as custom-ordered ornamental iron fencing from Medallion Fence.
We do NOT install the following:
=> Asphalt. We refer our clients to two trusted companies.
=> Stamped/patterned concrete.
=> Extensive plantings. While we can certainly do some planting of trees and shrubs as part of our hardscape projects, we refer our clients to trusted horticultural technician-designers for extensive garden design.

Q5. WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF YOUR PROJECT?
The HomeStars company PROFILE format includes a field for “PROJECT MINIMUM”.
> For prospective clients, we have set $5,000 as the minimum.
> For our previous clients, of course we are glad to come back to help with any landscape construction job, no matter how small.
> We appreciate that some homeowners may be unable to gauge whether or not their project would be above the $5,000 minimum threshold. Our office manager might be able to help with this when you describe the kind of work you would like to have done.

MEETING WITH ANGELO . . .
Angelo's QUOTATION REQUEST CALL-BACK LIST is updated by the office manager. On that spreadsheet, each request she enters is tracked by initial date of inquiry.
> CALL-BACK TIMEFRAME: During the construction season, Angelo strives to touch base with homeowners within two weeks of the date of their initial inquiry logged on the Quotation Request List (unless he had already placed a temporary hold on quoting before the inquiry was received).
> MEETING TIMEFRAME: During the construction season, Angelo does his best to integrate quotation meetings into his existing project work schedule. Client work always takes priority for him — something which prospective clients are sure to appreciate. During the offseason from approx. December through March, Angelo does quite a bit of quoting for the upcoming season, weather permitting.

During the peak season, Angelo combines jobsite work with sales, scheduling, purchasing, transportation, HR, client relations and other aspects of the business. He is at the jobsites daily. Multiple projects are usually under way. Clients deal with Angelo directly on anything pertaining to their projects. He manages the project schedule, calculates and places the orders for project materials and determines crew member assignments each day in consultation with his onsite Team leader, Dan. His Class AR driver's licence also enables him to minimize production disruptions by serving as the supply lifeline for the jobsites: delivering materials from manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers (paving stones, flagstone, wall systems, steps, boulders, rockery, gravel, screenings, lumber, fencing, topsoil, triplemix, sod, etc.), transporting equipment and materials between jobsites and ALL-PRO’s staging yard in north Ajax, and hauling project debris to transfer stations, for example. He integrates quotations into this schedule.

This is our 3rd project that Angelo and his team have done for us. We first had our driveway and front entrance done in interlock about 3 years ago. The 2nd job was a retaining wall and fence that runs along the back of the house. Both look fantastic!
When it was time to put a new patio in the backyard, the first thing we did was call Angelo. He came up with an excellent design and completed the job on time, on budget. It was a big job with some hidden issues such as old posts buried deep in concrete.
I cannot express enough how the exterior of our house has been transformed from ordinary to fantastic!
I would highly recommend his services.

Right from the get go I knew All-Pro would do an amazing job on our backyard. Angelo was very professional, personable and very easy to work with. He responded to my inquiry the very day I sent him an email and has been very good at keeping us updated on the next steps with our job. His crew was professional as well and always left our property tidy at the end of the day. We are thrilled with the end result and have spent everyday outside enjoying our yard since!
We never had any doubt that we would have any concerns with the quality of work, or whether they would complete the job. Definitely a trustworthy company I would recommend and hire again in a heartbeat.

Outdoor Facelift

Angelo and his team are a fast, hardworking, honest and talented group of people. Within two weeks AllPro completely transformed my front and backyard with new paverstones, amour rock retaining walls and stairs, wooden privacy fencing, sod and root removal of within all my existing flower beds. I would highly recommend these guys!

Our experience with Angelo and his team was very pleasurable. From out initial meeting, through to the completion of the job, he was always available to discuss any concerns, and address general questions. Even going so far as to make himself available when it may not have been convenient for him. (evenings, weekends)
He and his team made suggestions and incorporated our feedback into the job. As a result, we've been very pleased with the result, and are now starting to reap the benefits of the work done.

Exterior stairs to basement apartment

Had a terrible patio stone walkway for tenant to use to go to basement apartment, slabs all tilted due to drainage problem. Consulted with Angelo and got a really good feeling that he understood what I needed and how to address my drainage issues. The work was done in about 2 1/2 days and the stairwell is gorgeous, not just functional. They paid particular attention to the drainage issue and installed some piping to carry the excess water away. Cleanup was immaculate. I couldn't have asked for more, I would highly recommend All-Pro to anyone who asked

Front Landscaping and Backyard Gradient

My husband and I are very pleased with the work Angelo and his team at All-Pro completed for us. Incidentally Angelo did some work for my husband's family about 20 years ago and they were also very happy with it back then. In Nov 2015 All-Pro redid our front landscaping and the design idea they suggested looked great and the work was well done and on-budget. We also had All-Pro improve the gradient and drainage in our backyard and again everything was well done. We will definitely work with them again starting with some planting and other work in our front yard to put the finishing touches on their landscaping work. Thanks again All-Pro, see you again soon!

Front Yard Landscaping

Angelo and his team completed our front entrance and stone steps with expertise. He squeezed our relatively small project in during a busy time for his company. He kept to agreed upon deadlines and price. The new grass is now level and grew in lush and well drained. His estimate was higher than a competing company, but the finished result enhanced the renovation. Passers- by and neighbours continue to offer spontaneous positive comments that assure us that the investment we made with All-Pro Landscapers was well worth it.

Patio & Garden Landscaping

All-Pro Landscaping did a fantastic job in our backyard which included installing a stone patio, garden retaining walls with armour stone, and tree installation.

Angelo provided sound advice throughout the entire process, and was extremely flexible to any changes that we suggested to our plans. We had great communication with him, the work was done in a timely manner, and his team/crew were very professional. Also, Scott (one of the team members) was very knowledgeable and skilled about the trees we were installing and provided good advice on their care/placement.

Since this project has been completed we have received lots of compliments on our backyard, and most importantly we really enjoy it much more than before. We feel that All-Pro is a company that will deliver fantastic results, and highly recommend them to others.
