appliances installation

I got their contact from Kijiji and a certain Jorge (647 274 7882, and cell 416 879 2812) quoted $150 for both dishwasher and fridge installation. He dispatched a guy named Jack (asian-looking guy who said he originally came from Hongkong) claiming he has 3 certifications TSSA but had no idea what a blue seal certification is. From the moment he walked into my kitchen the price started to go up by saying he can't work on the existing fittings, or this or that, etc. He said the only the fitting (a flexible steel hose) that he could use was what he has and it is worth $105 plus a connector for $5.75. The final bill was $250.50 including taxes. The work on the fridge was done but the dishwasher was not because he wanted to re-install the pipe work which he said was leaking and would cost around $250. He pointed out some stains in the basement ceiling to m ake a point. I found out later that the problem is the leak stain wasn't coming from the dishwasher drain pipe but the kitchen sewer line. He said he can't finish the job on the diswasher so he will just charge for the uninstall but the problem is he cut the main and could not contain the leak. He said he has no threaded cap to but I can easily grab one from Home Depot and sounded like it was a common stuff you find anywhere except he just did not have it. He said he or his colleague will come back early Monday morning to do the drain pipe then ran out after getting the check. I spent about 3 hours looking for that cap but couldn't find it and it was getting dark and the water mains were shut off which means we could not use the toilets, taps, etc. I called Jorge both on his office and cell numbers and left 3 urgent messages emphasizing it was an emergency but to no avail. Monday came and went and nobody not even a call came. Luckily I was able to find a handyman who was able to cap the main for $75. I google searched both All Canadian Appliance and NCL construction but no trace of either of them.

Their invoice has no GST registration, no address. Jack asked the cheque to be issued in the name of NCL Construction Inc. I think this Company is a fraud and the public should be warned not to use them.

Approximate cost of services:
$250.00
