Home floor refinish

We were referred to this firm by a friend. The work was exceptional but to have them return to fix a problem created grief as they were offended that we would doubt their craftmanshhip

Home floor refinish

Careful as to the over promise and undeliver scenario. The owner and brother finished our floors. He sourced 8 Registers and stained them. They are all sealed shut, and left dripping with stain. He took the liberty to smash new tin inside the vents to fit his registers.
His finished floors show uneven stain and numerous spots where patching is not properly applied (ie: inadequate use of filler has cavities /exposed nail holes). The proposed sanding and UV finish is suspect: floors are rough, almost as if they have not been completely finished. This observation has been made by several objective witnesses. This guy is extremely high maintenance as we bent over backwards to keep him happy while on site. Despite promising a 120% satisfaction, he doesnt like to hear of issues days after he leaves the job. He will blame everyone else, claiming we were difficult to deal with and that other trades said the same (when in fact we bent over backwards to accomodate his schedule and expectation and we referred 22 of the 24 trades that we retained. He is one of we will not refer to others.
If you ask him to repair an issue he will tell you hes too busy or ask to be paid ridiculous amounts to fix his errors.. Who charges
750 to fix one stain blotch on one step. We had a gap between our sliding door and floor; he refused to fill with hardwood. We had to get a carpenter to instsll hardwood and stain and lacquor. He wanted 400 to do this. Our carpenter was 1/10 the price. He did supply a few ounces of stain which the carpenter used. Later we hear h e was doing us a favour and hes offended we didnt thank him for the stain. If by chance you raise quality issues with him he will blame the client or other trades or the environment. Yet, he had free access to an unfurnished , minimal obstructed floors and heat tho not evenly distributed was adequate for his application according to him during his work. His sales pitch (using UV light) is very convincing but buyer beware of quality and post customer service.
