We bought a home in Evanston from Homes By Avi and had amazing service from the start. They have been very attentive to our needs and have been there right away to fix things when they needed to be done. Our furnace shorted out one evening and someone came at 11pm to fix it; that is true service.

Our Story with Avi is a never ending Nightmare. They have a very poor costumer service and despite we tried to deal with them professionally all we got was disappointment after disappointment. They forced us to take position and undermind the outstanding issues for long time after we got the house. Do not build with Avi.

Be wary of buying a house built by Homes by Avi. I just sold my home in Tamarack, only to find out after the real property report that Avi poured the concrete garage pad too close to the back alley. Can you say paying an extra variance to the City?

Any other dealings with Avi were difficult at best. My favourite line was, "Oh but it's just a starter house."

We found the service from avi great from the start. Our first stop at the show home,they were very helpfull with pricing and information. They helped us rush things along as we were in a hurry. The selection center was a great experience. Picking all of our selections for your new home was easy and actually fun. Financial organization was very easy too. they recommended a mortgage company that has been great so far. We were already visited by the company for a two month warranty visit. They were very helpfull and fixed any isssues we had with no question.

Bought my house from them, and the build quality was okay but the customer service was pretty good and responsive. This is my first house and I don't really have other builders to compare with.

The worst builder I had never dealt with and I had lots of problems and be careful use builder lawyer (it isn't free). Will not by or recommend family & friend to built this crappy builder.

We build our new house with Avi in 2013. It certainly was a time and energy consuming process with them. Their immidiate answer to all of our requests (which was paid per request from us) was "It is absolutly impossible" . All the impossible issues have been completed by ourselves like the floor plan we picked wouldn't fit the lot ( It did!!!) permit for our deck ( We personally got it from city and paid for it twice).
The worste one was tha fact that neighbour built their driveway 6 feet into our property limit and they didn't want to fix it (The builder for the neighbour house was AVI !) we had to use our personal connections to get a survey done and then they had to fix it ! If it was not for our technical background this house would end up being a total disaster.

The whole process was a nightmare.

Our townhome in Evanston has lots of plus features which suggests much thought and refinement has gone into the design process and into the product package however we are getting the same treatment where specific issues are downplayed and the we await resolution on numerous issues. We are hoping they will come through but it is nine months now. Some issues include bathroom design, shower heights, flooring transitions, fence and gate problems. Contact me if you want to discuss.

We were fortunate to find someone selling their just completed Homes By Avi home. We jumped on the opportunity to buy and were able to purchase the home. Given that the home was brand new, it still included the warranty. Homes By Avi was quick to update their files and provide us with information on the home, as if we were the ones who had built it with them. Their warranty work was excellent whenever something needed to be fixed. In particular, Ira in their warranty department was excellent to deal with. While I can't comment on the process of building with Homes By Avi, if the professionalism and attention to detail they paid in the warranty phase are any indication, this is an excellent company to build a home with.

Homes by Avi built our home in 2011 - can't believe it's been 2 years already, but I must say they did an absolute amazing job. From the framework to the concrete, they did a fabulous job!
