Lead Water Replacement

Frank and his team started off good, they were priced competitive, arrived on time for the job and started. Small delay with the work when his plumber was dealing with another emergency, so he had to come back the next day to complete the work. No problem. Clean up was very far below par. First, the concrete job inside the house was very poor, luckily I was able to see it before it hardened and smoothed it out. The fill for the hole created in the brick was back filled with Windows and Doors foam. Which he said was structural foam. But I let those go. The worst was when his crew threw all the broken concrete into my neighbour's beautiful lawn, I guess they were hoping it would not be found. Clearly visible, I asked them to come fix it, they came but just mixed top soil in with the concrete. I personally had to spend a few hours removing it all from my neighbour's lawn since it was clear it wasn't going to be done correctly. Frank seems like a great guy but he and his crew needs some common sense.

Lead Pipe Replacement

Frank promptly contacted us after I reached out on Homestars. He provided a quote 2 days later. His quote was the most reasonable of 5 that I received. We booked with Frank for the following week. His team arrived at 7:30 and were done just after noon. Their work was clean and professional. No issues. Frank's staff then sent the Application to the City to have them replace their portion of the lead pipe.
Then we received a letter from the city stating they would not replace their portion of the pipe, as they believed it was copper. I contacted Frank to ask. He confirmed it was Lead, and said he would deal with it. Not something he had to do. But he spoke with the city a few times, confirming there was still lead pipe in the ground. The city just sent a second letter confirming they will come and replace their pipe.
Frank went out of his way to take care of this issue for us. He saved me time and the hassle of going to the City to argue this. We feel lucky that we chose to work with him and I will recommend him to everyone and anyone who needs this work done.

drain repair

Frank and his crew were incredible. My basement drains were backed up and flooding my basement, I called Frank and within 2 hours he and his staff were at my door. Frank quickly assessed the problem, and repaired my drain. and installed a back-flow preventer. Frank also obtained a permit and submitted documents to the city on my behalf , I would definitely recommend FNJ to anyone needing drain work,

Made a Mistake & Now Won't Return My Calls

Had Frank at FNJ replace my lead water service in December 2016. That part of the job went well. He suggested we put down a temporary asphalt patch in the mutual driveway where the cut was made and then pour a concrete patch in the spring. I called him in the spring to patch the driveway and they came to do the work one weekday while I was at work. Got home to discover that the work was very poorly done. The water valve was set too low so that water ponds on the patch. The finish was also completely botched so that the aggregate was poking up all across the patch. I wasn't overly concerned at first because I understand that mistakes happen but what transpired next was the concerning part. I immediately let Frank know about the problem and the first thing he did was blame the other contractor I had on site who was renovating my basement, which is kind of ridiculous because there is no way they could have caused the issues. After several text messages over several days, he agreed to come by my house to take a look. Well he never did and shortly thereafter he stopped answering my texts and calls. I called or texted him two times a week for over a month with no response. I went out of my way to be extremely polite in every message and text to not inflame the situation further. To this day, he has not responded. Would definitely not recommend this contractor as they do not own up to their mistakes.

Sewer Backflow Valve installation

I was getting my new 3/4 inch waterline installed. Frank upsold me the basement drain Backflow Prevention Valve installation for $2500 under the premise that he would process the $1250 Toronto city subsidy for me. His novice team did a semi-okay job (they left my basement tiles cracked multiple places), but my main problem is Frank didn't bother to call the city for inspection of the Backflow Prevention Valve installation nor did he submit the subsidy application as promised. Now Frank is ignoring my calls; this is not a respectable way to do business; I would not do business with FNJ again - if there's a problem, Frank would not fix it.

Company Response

This is the first time in all my years of business that I have a poor review. My company succeds on customer satisfaction and quality work. In this situation my work was completed properly. I filled all necessary paperwork to the city of Toronto on your behalf. I obtained a permit for the work to be done. I submitted your application to the city of Toronto. All you needed to do was have someone at the property to let inspector in and inspect the work. He tried to come on 3 occasions and was not successful due to access and language barriers. I have voicemail from city inspector to back this.
Your review states that I did not submit any paperwork. That is a false statement and I have all paperwork to show this. The cracked tiles were already there. Your home was under renovation and could have been done before my work.

Water service replacement

FNJ Contracting has a 'customer first' policy that Frank lives up to. Their ability to torpedo a new line into an existing house is a clean and non-disruptive way to replace your water service. Even if problems are encountered, Frank is the type of contractor that makes things right in order to maintain customer satisfaction. He is someone you can count on.

Lead pipe replacement

I found FNJ on home stars and am very appreciative. Frank was very prompt at calling me back and even faster at getting on site to provide me an estimate. The pricing at FNJ is both fair and incredibly competitive. Frank showed up within 48 hours of me calling to provide his estimate and completed the work two days after that. I would recommend a team and FNJ to anyone that asks!!! They removed the lead pipes and had replacements installed by a certified plumber before noon with no issues. Thank you Frank

3/4" water service (lead pipe removal)

Unbelievably fast, efficient, and professional. I first spoke to Frank on Monday. He came by on Tuesday morning to do an assessment and provide a quote. I called him back Tuesday afternoon to arrange the work to be done. Frank and his exceptionally pleasant and courteous team showed up on Thursday morning at 7am as discussed. The work was done by noon and they were gone, as if they had never even been here. The garden where they had to dig was put completely back together with no damage, and my basement was in perfect condition, as before the work was done. I honestly can't say enough about how impressed I am with the experience. There's a reason FNJ has all 10s on this site. An incredible job.

Backflow Valve and 3/4" Supply Line

Frank and his team replaced my lead pipe with a copper pipe and installed a back flow valve. They showed up right on time (just before 7am) and started digging. Work completed by 1pm. They were fast, efficient, and answered all my questions. They left my house clean. Very professional and would use them again. Highly recommended.
