I installed Hy-Grade roofing system July 2015 and can report an exceptional experience with the product, the no pressure sales approach, the truly professional installation team and the follow up.

Installed in 2013. Very good product. Referred by a friend. Didn't disappoint. Certainly more expensive than shingles. Installers cleaned up. Work done in only a few days. No trouble recommending them.

We signed contract in Apr 2014, was told it would be 6-8 weeks, didn't hear from them until end of July 2014 after we called them asking when our roof was scheduled to be completed. Material arrived on a Thursday however no one told us when they were to start the job. We left for the weekend as no one had called yet, figuring someone would call us to start the following week, no call. The crew showed up on the saturday morning WITHOUT ANY NOTICe, fortunately someone was staying at our home. The installers didn't tie off, no safety equipment used, no CSA approved shoes or steel toed boots. Furthermore, I noticed the installers arguing on the roof, yelling at each other in another language.
After the job was done I asked the installer when the final inspection would be done, he couldn't tell me, said maybe in a week. That was August 4, 2014, now it is Sept 2, 2014. When the office called to confirm the final payment in the second week of August, I asked again when it would be, they told me they couldn't tell me, I requested someone call to advise when they were coming as I would like to be present for the inspection, they agreed and wrote a note on the file.
On August 27, 2014, I called and asked again when they would be coming as I hadn't heard from them, they said early the following week.
They called the morning of Sept 2, 2014, stating they would come between 11 and 12 pm. At 1pm no one had come or called to advise of a change of plans.
While I understand our job may have been small compared to others, overall the company was very unprofessional in their lack of communication with us as a customer, regard for our time, as well as their installers behaviour while installing the roof on our home.
I have had many people ask who installed our roof, I tell them, then go on to tell them also the issues we have had, and that I would not recommend them.
I was excited to work with this company initially however the continuous issues unfortunately have made a very negative overall impression.

We are so happy with our new HY-GRADE steel roof installed April 2013. The roof is black but does it ever make the house cooler with it's ventilation design. The crew came and had it done in one cold day, but we will never need to install another roof. Thank you so much, HY-GRADE ROOFING !

Can't ask for better than being treated like part of a caring family. I realized after crunching the numbers that this 50 year, fully transferable roof was very cost effective. One concern I had was it would be noisy when it's raining hard. It's not. It is actually more quiet than the old asphalt shingles because of their raised wooden strapping/insulating system under the steel shakes. I was completely satisfied from beginning to end! They even came through with a referral reward cheque of $400 when a neighbour who liked my roof had their own installed. I wish all contractors were like them.

It's now April 2018 and I still love my steel roof, but I need chimney work done. It's only accessible with a cherry picker ($800 - $1000 rental). I called Hy-Grade for instructions on how to walk on the roof without damaging it. They did not recommended this. Hy-Grade could remove and replace some shakes for $500 - $600, but scheduling would be a problem, as this is their busy season. So I warn anyone in the market for a steel roof to make sure anything up there that's not at the edge of the roof is also maintenance free for 50 years!

We are 100% happy with the whole procedure from beginning to end. The representative was very professional and knowledgeable and he followed up on every phase of the work. The installation crew worked through record-setting heat in July and did a beautiful job. Everyone says that it compliments the style of our home and has added considerably to its appearance. Overall, considering that we will never have to buy another roof, the price was very reasonable. Another bonus- it's all Canadian! We just love it and highly recommend HY-GRADE to anyone not wanting to waste their money on asphalt roofing that may last only 6-7 years as ours did.

We decided to replace our old roof with a metal one, and after considering aluminum vs steel went with a steel roof. The folks at Hy-Grade provided an excellent service from the quote to the follow-up stages. We got a durable, quiet, and insulating roof that really adds value to the neighbourhood and our home.

I love my new Hy-Grade Steel Roof. My roof no longer leaks and it looks great. The weather was miserable during the install but the crew were great, very friendly and did a few little extras for me such as re-installing some of my aluminum flashings that had been blown off in previous wind storms. I used to dread going out to check my roof after a good thunderstorm - now I look forward to it!

Hy-Grade did an amazing job installing a new roof on my 90-year old home. I didn't want another asphalt shingle roof, after the early failure of my previous two roofing jobs. Other metal roofing companies were not able to install matching siding on the sides of my dormers, but this was no problem for Hy-Grade and it was great only having to deal with one company for all of the work. Everyone was exceptional: the salesman who provided the quote, the office staff, the installation crew and even the guy they sent to inspect the completed job. The installers were an amazing group of guys - always professional and very helpful. .....and now I'm dry and I have a roof that looks great!

Sales representative was a highly professional and knowledgable person. Looking forward to having our roofing problems solved permanently instead of having to deal with renewing the roof every 10 to 15 years, we will save money in the long run.
