Throughout the process was professional and the installers showed great respect for our property and kept us informed of the progress throughout. The previous owner of my home compromised the structure by attempting to make it look more open concept through opening some load bearing walls. as a result the main floor level sank sloping towards the basement staircase. John Mclellan and his crew came in. They were all polite, honest, helpful and clean. I asked for proof of his insurance, the business HST number and references from previous similar jobs he had done within the last three years. He provided everything I requested. The dug into the foundation, installed new posts and relevelled the main floor. They finished on time, on budget as promised. A pleasure to deal with this company. They are true professionals.

John and his crew designed and created the most beautiful and fully functional wheelchair accessible washroom for us. He and his team worked quickly to get the job complete, they kept the work area incredibly clean and were professional and friendly the entire time. I would definitely recommend John to my family, friends and colleagues for any construction needs!

We wanted to have our condominium apartment renovated completely. It had to be painted, carpeted and the bathrooms completely gutted and redone. It was a very large job, as my husband and I are senior citizens in our seventies. John's name was recommended to us by the condominium management. We were impressed with John's personality when we met him. His caring and considerate attitude made us feel confident about entrusting him with the project. He discussed finances, timelines and other details with honesty and consideration.

John helped us by making suggestions, purchasing the materials with us and storing it in his care as we had no space. The time projection for the job was three weeks. All furniture was taken out and stored by the company. We stayed in Toronto for one week and then went out of city. The team kept in contact. If something did not work out, it was replaced. Whatever was needed, got done and we were in our apartment on time.

What we found unique was the coordination, cooperation and comradery that existed among the team members and trades people. Darrel was in charge of the project, Debbie, Evan and Joshua were with him. Mike installed the carpets. Warren custom made my washroom vanity and retouched the furniture. The office personnel Trish and others were very co-operative. The workmanship in every area was excellent. They all took pride in their work and displayed true professionalism. The place was left nice and clean.

What makes this company outstanding is the caring attitude of all the people. They walked an extra mile to make us comfortable during this busy time. With their true professional expertise, kind and caring attitude, a project that could have been most arduous and strenuous turned out to be a pleasant and worthwhile experience.

We redid our roof with John 5 years ago. The price was cheaper than anyone else and he had a great selection of shingles. They were on time cleaned up all the mess and were very careful not to leave any nails on the driveway for our child and pets to get hurt on. There was a storm last summer that blew a lot of our neighbors shingles off even though their roof was newer than ours. Ours held up great. No problems. Would definately recommend him to everyone.

having 3 windows installed, day 1 and i was so impressed i couldnt wait to write a review. From weeks ago when i ordered window, John had personally visited after I had 3-4 other contractors not return calls or try to charge me for emergency fees as windows were leaking. John was quick to show, honest and really trustworthy. He worked with my insurance and communicated throughout. He again personally visited to take last minute measurements to ensure a quick install. His staff showed on time, worked hard and had a great first day getting 1 bay window installed. This company is trustworthy, reliable and honest. Even the installers were as courteous and kind as John, taking time to clean up well and surprisingly even taking time to play with my children in order to remind them of where it was safe to go. I am so thoroughly impressed by them as trades workers but also as decent humans. Cant say enough and will post pics when completed.

We have a 2 story home and had an existing old skylight, which would heat up the second floor in the summer and cool in down in the winter. We were always fighting with the furance and air condition to heat or cool the second floor. We contacted John McLellan and he suggested the Velux skylight with a manuel opening. We are so happy with the results. We open the skylight and the evening cool breeze flows through the house on the warmer days. It has well insulated glass that keeps the house warm in winter. We rarely use our air conditioner in the summer now. This was the perfect solution for our two storey home. John's staff were kind and caring and very neat. I'd highly recommend his company as John stands behind his name. In fact we are getting quote for new windows too.

Porch and front steps were in need of repair due to deterioration over the years. Workman scraped and sanded cement steps to remove excess paint. Then painted and caulked both surfaces. Afterwards looked 100% better.

We have used John McLellan Contracting for several home improvements - fence, roof, windows, doors, and shutters. Their prices are competitive but it's their service that separates them from other companies. From the office girls who are very friendly and able to answer all of our questions to the installation workers who ALWAYS ensure the work is completed to the highest standards. I especially appreciate the fact that they never leave a mess after their work is completed.
