citi line moving

Where do i begin? i found citi line moving on kijji oshawa(first problem) i spoke to "harry" who is also "joe"btw and one more name i forget..He seemed fine on the phone and said they could accomandate my date."Harry" quoted me $65 per hour,plus 2 hours travel time from woodbridge to oshawa there and back,also fine.In my mind i thought even if they take the time and take 10-12 hours who cares at that price.So moving day comes up fast and they're a half hour late,no biggie. Once they arrive we are greeted by 3 guys who proceed to start chuckin my crap in the truck with no care in the world.They didnt lay down drop cloths they left theyre salty boots on my off white austrailan wool carpet$25 per sq foot!They packed the truck 25% full(no moving blankets) and then demanned a $1000 deposit! I kindly told them NO way and the guy got mouthy so i said ill fire you and unpack it myself and they can go..He quickly got on the phone with "harry" and he said he could do less..At this point i felt like,"this will be a long day"..We finally packed the entire house and left.Now from where i moved too it is 4.3km from my old house,7 min drive TOPs.45 mins for citiline! Once they arrived they sat in the driveway for another 45 mins.I finally went up to the door and asked "is theyre a issue or something"? The driver said no he was making up the bill,BILL! How can you make a bill before the job is done,i asked? He rolled up the window..At this point i knew there was going to be issues so i called my friends,because they were 3 and i was one with my wife and 2 daughters. Finally they came out of the truck and gave me a bill of $1972..I freaked out!Thats double of the estimate "harry"gave me.I told them once the job is finished that id pay,im honest.He said "i'm locking the truck and you'll have to pay $180 per day storage plus more moving costs"!!!!!!WOW! And like a stroke from the gods 8 of my buddies came. Now at this point these guys are nervous now and are threatening to leave with my stuff.So we proceded to block them in with our cars,meanwhile i looked for bolt cutters to cut off the lock.So as im freaking out and ranting and cursing and looking for something to cut a lock off,My friends are getting real heated to put it gently. At this point my wife had to call the police before things went further.Once Durham region police arrived they listened to them and us and "stated they were tryin to scam us" with stair charges,heavy lifting charges,.37 km,etc etc..also 14 hours.at that point we are at 8 hours 1.5 of which is traveling 4.3km and making a bill!
Long storey short,after the move,,DAMAGE DAMAGE DAMAGE!My stuff is scuffed and fridge is dented,I never want to move ever again..I hate this company and i also found is on citiline on Kijji oshawa which ill cut and paste below..PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY WITH MOVING COMPANIES..lEARN FROM ME!..GOOD LUCK!

I want to get the word out tonight about a scene that happened up in north oshawa with the movers Citi Line who have ads on here,they had a womans stuff packed up in the truck,and then gave her a final bill that was DOUBLE of what she was expecting to pay and when she asked for her belongings to be taken out because she couldnt pay it,and her son and friend would move them back upstairs they wouldnt have to do anything, they told her she couldnt get any of her money back....now come on people what is wrong with this picture,these two guys saw SUCKER written all over her and they blamed it on their boss saying it was his decision what a joke...this lady is a struggling single mother who didnt have alot of cash and is under an sherriffs order to vacate tomorrow,now thanks to these guys she is gonna lose everything,sorry she doesnt have 1000-1600 to pay for good movers...We dont treat people like that and believe me if it was their mother getting treated like that well they would probably blow a gasket!!!! of course they'll have their opinion BUT bottom line gentlemen you have $300 of hers and did not move her.

If anyone reads this and has had problems with this company feel free to email me because i feel that maybe the papers should be brought into this and maybe court,and we could use some feedback.

This company ripped me off big time. 3 hours into the move..the rude and horrible driver told me to give him and additional 700 dollars or he would not move me. I had already given him 300 dollars. I cried and call the head office and the fellow on the phone was just has horrible. This company ended up costing me 1000 dollars and didn't even move my whole house, I had to rent a uhaul and go back for the rest of my belongings the next day. They showed up 1 and 1/2 hours late and were rude and spitting on my property right from the get go. Do yourself a favor.. keep away from this horrible band of theifs. I'm working with the better business burreau also. I don't want my money back,, they should be made to give it to haiti relief. All i'm after is to save someone the horrid grief i went through.
