I just wanted to leave a short message about my experience with Firemen movers. I was in uniform for 5 years with the US Air Force and I have moved 12 times since 1996. I have moved myself and I have had professional movers move me as well. Given my experiences, I have to say that my last move with Firemen Movers was the best – BAR NONE. Not that other companies didn’t have qualified people, they did, but the problem was that there were always regular movers (employees of the company) and then they would pick up day laborers to help. These were often people that had major problems securing and maintaining regular work. Not that some day laborers are not fine, but we had people showing up smelling of alcohol, or other problems. Firemen movers didn’t use day-labor. The guys were courteous, prompt, careful and experienced. We had a great move and nothing was broken or missing, which has always happened on other moves. They were great. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I just wanted to say a heart felt thank you for the smooth efficient move provided by Fireman Movers. The outstanding customer service started in the office and was continued by the guys.Paul, Zack and Andrew were professional, caring, friendly and efficient and on time. Before I met them I would have never believed guys could tote so much up and down so many flights of stairs and remain downright cheerful! (3 flights at the pick up and 5 at the destination)
I highly recommend your company to everyone I know. The service was outstanding and worth every penny. My thanks to you all you made this the best move day I’ve ever had!

Thanks guys for a job well-done. It made our day a pleasure knowing that the people we hired were actually working and not wasting time and our money. It was worth every penny believe me. Thanks again.

moving from one home to another

As a single parent, I was very anxious and stressed out about moving my family. Firemen Movers relieved my stress and worries from my very fist contact with them. Not only was their customer service outstanding, everyone I spoke with was courteous and professional. The crew was efficient, on time and pleasant. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations and I have recommended them to everyone I know.

Moving from Father's apt. and a retirement home all to a sotrage unit

Moving is difficult at the best of times but when you are moving your father's belongings and he passes away the day of the move......you need a professional team to take control. This crew was amazing and extremely sensitive. They liaised with the superintendant and the retirement home at both places and then again at storage unit. Thank-you for the special attention to his personal belongings and making a terrible day a little bit better.

Estate Move and House Move

Our move far from simple. Get a large object (ping-pong table) out of a basement in Toronto, drive to our father's cottage (who has just past away) and collect LARGE tools and machinery (things that dont fit in boxes - LOL)- jigsaws, etc, and then come to our summer home in Haliburton and pick up an entire apartment's worth of furniture to be moved to our new place (all in 24 hours)....
In all our moves, from Asia to Ottawa, we have never had the curteousness and professionalism that FIREMEN MOVERS gave us....and let's not forget that they were the hardest working men we have yet to see.

THE ICING ON THE CAKE - in our final stage of the move - when a 9 foot teak cabinet doesn't fit in the kitchen by 1/4 of an inch - and in a small condo this matters - and I am about to give in - one of our FIREMEN - sugested moving some pieces around (LARGE TEAK HEAVY PIECES that they had already put into place) and saved the day......

ALL I CAN SAY IS - Great moving and decorating advice??? Firemen Movers moved us like it was their own new home....... 10/10

3 bedroom house move

We hired movers for the first time as we were moving only days before Christmas. We searched a number of companies based on recommendations and went with Firemen as their price was comparable, no hidden costs and the owner actually came to our house to provide an estimate. He was very candid with us and gave us a realistic estimate of cost. On the day of the move, four movers showed up on time, worked hard in carefully moving our items from and to the new house. In the new house, we had just finished the floors so we were hyper nervous. In both houses, they used runners to protect the floors to the third floor and wrapped all furniture with plastic wrap. We helped them move throughout the day and at the end of the day the cost came in well under estimate. I swear I'm never moving again but if I do, I would use them again.

moving dining room table and chairs

When you think of firemen you think of totally honest/reliable. This was a small move. When I explained the move to one of the owners, it sounded like the cost would be about 200 with tax. That hooked me in.
Turns out, it was close to $300.
Are they even allowed to use their affiliation as firemen for a private company?
Employees seemed nice enough.

We at Firemen Movers are very sorry that this client feels this way about the service our company provided to her. We have built this company on the basis of trust and integrity and it is our goal to make sure all of customers feel that they have been dealt with fairly.
>
> At Firemen Movers we strive to provide crystal clear communication with all of our clients and in this case we feel we did that. I am the co-owner that took the call in this case and I was extremely clear and up front about what the cost would be for this job. I explained that it would be a minimum of 1 hour labor and 1 hour travel at $109 per hour plus GST. I also explained that I couldn't say exactly how long it would take to professionaly wrap and secure her dining room set and deliver it from Oakville to Brampton but if it takes more than an hour we would have to charge her for any time beyond that. It ended actually taking 1.5 hours in total. I am sorry that our client does not remember it this way and Firemen Movers takes very seriously the way and standard to which we treat each and every one of our clients.

Moving

I chose Firemen Movers based on trust, I used other movers in past and there were hidden costs. Firemen Movers showed up on time, no hidden costs, clean cut and polite. This can be a stressful time but Firemen Movers made the move stress free. I would definitely recommend them, I found them on their website www.firemenmovers.com.

Moving

Hired these guys based on reviews found online to move me from the suburbs into Toronto. The truck was only 15 minutes late showing up (totally acceptable) and the guys were great. Overall I had zero complaints about how smooth the move went, until that is, AFTER the move when I realized my 40" LCD television was no longer working. (for the record, it was working the morning of the move, but hasn't worked since). The TV was packed in its original box complete with styrofoam, etc. the day of the move. It was the last thing we packed.

Upon unpacking it and setting it up in my master bedroom in the new house, I discovered it was no longer working. The TV turns on/off, but there is no picture which indicates the bulb was busted in the move. I immediately contacted Firemen Movers and the gentlemen I spoke with the first time asked me why I waited a week to contact them (which, for the record, I thought was complete BS). I work full time. I have a 3-bedroom house to unpack. I have a daughter to register for school. There are a million things I was dealing with, so hooking up the television in my master bedroom was NOT at the top of my list of priorities. Needless to say, I got nowhere with him except "this has never happened to us before" and a promise to call me back after the weekend.

I also contacted a TV repair company who indicated this will happen if the TV is mishandled (dropped, bumped, etc). After 3 weeks of back and forth phone tag with the moving company, I finally connected with them today to be told there is nothing they will do because they are not responsible for anything they themselves did not pack. So, either I hire them to not only move me but pack me up as well (that would have easily cost $3000 in time alone) or I pay $1200, pack my belongings myself, but risk being stuck with a barely 2 year old $1400 LCD TV that doesn't work. Awesome situation.

So, given the way they've dealt with this - would I recommend them? Nope. I would not. Based on the way they have chosen to handle this.

Firemen Movers is very sorry that this clients Flat Screen TV did not work when she went to plug it back in. It is unfortunate, however, we at Firemen Movers would like to explain why we were unable to process this clients claim.

Being a moving company, we have to be able to have control over how household items are packed for moving or we are unable to take responsibility for them. On all of our Order Confirmations and Invoices it clearly states that Firememn Movers can not be held responsible for boxes packed by the client. If we do not adhere to this principle it would open up the possibilty of fraudulent claims against our company that could make it impossible to do business. Please note that under NO circumstances are we at Firemen Movers saying that this clients claim is fraudulant. We do sympathise with her situation however we can not say for sure when the TV would have been damaged. We as a company have moved many Flat Scren TVs and we have never had a claim for one. They are a sensitive item, and we have excellent results moving them, but we can't take resonsibility for items that were removed from a wall, packed, unpacked and reinstalled without having control over the situation. We moved her TV with the utmost care as we did with all of the contents of her home.

Again, we do sympathise with her but we hope she can understand our position in this case.
